Hi everyone,

Just wondering if the method of reposting content from other users and adding credit to author is working on Tiktok and if it is allowed? Is anyone doing it? Any advice?

Thanks!

Reposting content on TikTok can work, but it's important to navigate the platform's guidelines and ethical practices carefully. Here's what you need to know:

1. TikTok Community Guidelines

TikTok allows reposting of content, but it must follow these rules:

  • Permission from the Original Creator: TikTok's guidelines emphasize respect for intellectual property. Reposting without the creator's consent can lead to copyright strikes or content removal.
  • Credit to the Original Creator: While giving credit is good practice, it doesn't replace getting permission.

2. Effectiveness of the Method

Reposting content may work to some extent if:

  • You Select High-Quality, Engaging Content: Viral or niche-specific content has higher chances of success.
  • You Add Value: Adding creative captions, overlays, or commentary can make reposted content more appealing.
  • You Build a Thematic Account: Consistency in reposting content around a specific theme or niche attracts followers.

3. Risks

  • Account Ban or Shadowban: Repeated violations of TikTok's policies can result in your account being flagged or banned.
  • Loss of Credibility: Audiences often prefer original content. Over-reliance on reposting may hurt your brand in the long term.
  • Legal Issues: Copyright infringement can lead to legal complications if original creators take action.

4. Recommendations

  • Obtain Permission: Always reach out to creators and get their consent to repost content.
  • Use TikTok’s Stitch or Duet Features: These options automatically link back to the original content and are within TikTok’s rules.
  • Focus on Original Content: Balance reposted content with your original creations to build a sustainable presence.
If you’re using this method, ensure you comply with all guidelines to avoid penalties and focus on adding unique value to stand out on the platform.

Seriously what has this forum come to?

If you don’t make any changes to the video it will just be considered duplicate content and likely won’t get impressions.
Just to leave credit won’t work in this case.

If you want to make money from views or reposting TikToks, you should build your channel in countries that pay more per view, like the US or UK. A lot depends on luck, as many channels will get views, but the other half of the equation is you have to be diligent and post a lot. Good luck bro!

Reposting content is okay if you give credit to where credit is due but you got to also make sure to remove metadata of the video to not get flagged by bot filters.

Reposting TikTok content with credit can work, but it's best to ask for permission and respect copyright rules.

There are still a lot of people doing this and they have to edit it to be different from the original, but there are also a lot of people who have been banned for reuploading other people's content.

That’s useless because retweets won’t attract followers the same way that creating original content will.

I advice you to use CapCut increase quality, give it a white background, highlight most liked text then when reposting tag the creator.

Would it work to download video and edited it with video edit software and exported again to create new metadata?

What are the changes you recommend to do? For example what if I download 2 videos and create 1 video out of it, would that work?

You think no one would complain?

That is good, so, I basically edit video to create new video and give credit to creator, correct? What you mean with highlight most liked text? and white backbround as a border around video? Thanks!

That is why I asked if it really works or not.
