subreddit banned by bot attack

I spent the last 6 months building by subreddit up to the point where it was making $9k-$14k per week. Very few monetized links (ratio of 70 organic posts to any post with an affiliate link). I just targeted the right posts.

The sub was growing organically to the point where I had a good amount of organic activity and community members posting most days.

Anyways...

as it turns out, someone started buying batches of 10k subscribers to the subreddit and mass reporting all the mods. All mod accounts were banned. The subreddit hasn't been banned yet, but I've seen this before and it usually takes a day or two.

Is there anyway to protect against this?

it sucks other moderators are your worst enemies, cutthroat.

have your tried appealing in r/modsupport modmail ?
and if account banned reddit.com/appeal.

and if account banned reddit.com/appeal.

I've appealed already but reddit support is trash imo. Success rate is very low.

I tried to make the sub private, claiming someone is bot spam attacking my sub, and they denied the request.

I'm aware of that notorious subreddit I wished it never existed in the first place.The members get feel good points of being a internet police and starting witch hunts .Reddit is a cesspool of shit.

It's weird because I have 4 other subreddits, most targeting different versions of the same niche. Once the main sub was taken down, they stopped.

From a quick investigation, it seems a subscriber costs like $0.40-$0.50/member. This means whoever did this spent around 30-40k to have my sub taken down.

Very big investment (unless my numbers are off entirely)

Were your moderator or poster linked to some of the OnlyFans related subreddit? There is a war by a very big publisher against them right now and they are nuking everything that is related to them.

It started a couple of months ago when a certain moderator from r/onlyfansgirls101 started calling other affiliate marketer out on r/redditrequest

One of the requester was actually owned by a publisher that is on the same playing field as Forbes, and the OnlyFans spammer managed to shadow ban that account.

There's a team now scanning through those people, and also looking at the SERP if any of those subreddit is related to them.

So, if your account is related to them or any of the NSFW account that has being calling people out on r/thesefuckingaccounts , you are likely to get nuked.

Yes, isthatryanc was the moderator for onlyfansgirls101.

They seem to have changed the structure a little bit now, but a lot of the callout was made by the same group, and most of the moderator was moderating the same subreddit.

It's a little bit to late to change the structure now, because most people probably already made a note of those moderators, so even though isthatryanc finally left onlyfansgirls101, that big publisher already know most of the account now.

Essentially, they have people looking at the Google ranking for the niches RyanC were calling people out for, if they saw a subreddit or reddit post ranking for it. They will then go through the subreddit moderators, commenters and poster to see if there's any hint of onlyfans or nsfw activity.

They are also looking through callout subreddit such as r/thesefuckingaccounts for those NSFW moderators.

They find the profile, they then look through the poster, the commenters to find other related affiliate subreddit, just for them to harrash even further, a ton of NSFW subreddit got even banned because of it.

I start again if I were you, but don't link them to any OnlyFans, and you'd be safe for now.

However, I doubt they used such amount. Rather they already have the resources available, or at a good deal.
