Does Metamask even support usdt trc20? Googling for this it literally shows they don't support it.Hi,
I've just transferred some USDT from my Coinbase wallet to my Metamask wallet and I'm not seeing the money in Metamask even though the transaction report in Coinbase wallet says was successful.
Now, as many of you know, I have no idea what I'm doing, I just can't get the hang of this crypto stuff, so I kind of shoot in the dark... Anyway, back to the topic...
About 2.5 years ago when I tried crypto for the first time I created a Metamask wallet which - to my surprise - I have saved the credentials (password + the 12 words key) for in a txt file and now - as I was trying to get the USDT out of my Coinbase wallet to turn it into cash somehow - I stumbled upon this file that had my Metamask credentials saved and as soon as I found this info I re-added the wallet to my Brave browser, copied Metamask's address, plopped it into the Coinbase wallet and went ahead and sent some fake USDT money to the Metamask wallet but - like I said - I can't see the money in Metamask even though the transaction was supposedly successful...
So now I'm wondering: did this money get lost in the twilight zone of crypto networks and blockchains, or will it arrive in my Metamask wallet later?? I don't know...
Also (probably important) I should mention that after I have reinstalled Metamask into my browser and accessed it for the first time I could only see ETH in there, but after I made the transaction and saw that no money shows up in Metamask I panicked and went ahead and added networks like BNB and Base to Metamask because I remember that these 2 networks seem to pop up the most inside of my Coinbase wallet, so I was thinking that I need to have those networks enabled in order to transfer the USDT, but the problem is that I didn't think of adding them before making the transaction (I've only added them AFTER the transaction) and now I'm afraid I might have lost this money. Can someone please tell me what the hell is going on with this fake industry? How come everyone makes transactions instantly while for me every time I click send (regardless of where I send it to) the money never arrives? What's happening?
Please enlighten me![]()
I don't remember, but I think they don't support it. I went through my email conversation with MM support staff and I'm not seeing this being mentioned in that discussion, but I remember that I've also had an online chat with support before we went to emails and I remember (albeit vaguely) them saying that the USDt token that I was being scammed with at that time is not supported by MM. So, USDt was not supported back then, I can guarantee this. But I can't guarantee about the TRC20 token, I don't remember this thing being mentioned in our discussions, sorry...Does Metamask even support usdt trc20? Yeah, it was an investment scam, but I don't remember much about it sorry (my memory is so short nowadays).... And it all happened via father's phone anyway, I'd have to retrieve the phone in order to check, bu father only comes here once or twice a week and he was here yesterday and now he comes back next week, so I won't be able to check until next week... if he even has the app installed on his phone to begin with...Can you search for both your sending wallet and your receiving wallet on any of the blockchain explorer sites and check the status of the transaction?
The site you're sending from - is it the legit Coinbase site?
I read about your dad being scammed. Was this an investment scam? A common method is to create a fake site with a fake wallet.

But anyway, if you really want this info I can check when he comes back and - provided the info is still there - I'll check it and post it here as I have no problem exposing scammers![]()
what you're saying sounds familiar, but I honestly don't remember the details. I've programmed my brain many years ago to forget info that's not needed or useful to me anymore, so few days after I concluded that it was a scam I unconsciously set my mind to erase this info from my brain but to keep the knowledge and sensation that it's bad, so whenever I meet something similar / identical nowadays I get the sensations of "something's not right" but without being able to pinpoint what exactly is not right... I do this to develop / re-ignite my intuition because in this time and age when companies and governments aggress people on emotional and unconscious levels you gotta up your game too or else you become their yesman (which is exactly the ultimate goal of these psychopaths who need slave to do their work but without questioning them or holding them accountable for anything, which is why the middle class in most Western countries suffer and are targeted by these lunatics while the poor are kept poor but without being targeted as much as the middle class)...Yes, so I have a background in cyber security as a youngster. Plus people know that I work with computers. This means that people approach me all the time, often when shit hits the fan.
This also means that I do everything possible to stay abreast with these scams.
Let me guess, your father got a call promising high returns on Crypto. Stock markets don't work. Crypto is where it's at.
He was asked to pay a certain amount of money. And download an app. Quite possibly an APK file was sent to him to install.
Once he made the payment, the equivalent amount showed up on the app.
Then every week like clockwork, this amount started increasing slowly and gradually. But regularly.
Your father was told that this is only the tip of the iceberg and he should put in more money before this momentum breaks. (Which he either did or didn't)
Now when the time for withdrawal came, he was asked to either give them more money or send some cash as "processing fee".
Then you can see a button to withdraw on the app. It looks all legit. You entered your Metamask waller ID. And the transaction is successful too. However, your metamask is empty.
//
This is because the app is a fake app. The scammer simply entered the balance. And it automatically grows by x% randomly.
There's nothing connected to the blockchain either. The transaction never occurs.
It's all text on a screen.

That being said, if your dad still has the app - please check all app permissions for the app. If it has SMS reading or file permissions. It could read OTPs and Bank texts etc. and even upload photos etc. to their servers.
Dude got banned, no wonder. Remember he was talking smack to me and telling me go check with psychiatrist. You first exercise, then you do. Not the other way around. College hasn't taught you.
If you do things like that impulsively, time to work on that.
yeah, he was weird... well, I am weird too, but he's been weirderDude got banned, no wonder. Remember he was talking smack to me and telling me go check with psychiatrist.
hey, man! That being said, if your dad still has the app - please check all app permissions for the app. If it has SMS reading or file permissions. It could read OTPs and Bank texts etc. and even upload photos etc. to their servers.
hey, man!
My father was here 2 days ago but I forgot to check his phone, sorry! But few minutes ago - out of the blue - I just remembered the site that scammed him, it's statosinvest.site .... I thought I should share it before I forget it again![]()

Yeah bro! Dad got scammed.![]()
well, now I know this (and father knows it too after I did this research), but what's the point since the money is already lost??
But thanks for the heads-up!
I don't know how bad it was because I didn't ask (I was afraid I might have gotten triggered if I had heard the amount, so I chose not to ask).. And yeah, pops did recover from it (at least on the surface), but back then when I gave him the news he was really shook... After I have given him the news I have left him outside where he was gardening, I left him there with his phone in his almost imperceptibly shaking hands and I went back in the house but I looked out the window and he was holding his phone in his hands staring down at it for a good.... hmm, 30-ish seconds or so, not knowing what to do next...I am terribly sorry for your loss. Hope it wasn't too bad. And your dad can recover from this. And be more careful moving forward.
Sometimes it can be quite difficult to move on. My biggest loss was about $20,000. I lost them, and it was all my fault. But it was difficult to handle. 10 days of depression. Then I realized that it wouldn't bring them back anyway. We need to get up and move on.Anyway, I chose to remember this experience for future protection, but to forget its details so I can move forward with my life, otherwise I know myself, I'm capable of deep mental disturbance and depression if I let myself be pulled into it. So, I mentally shrugged it off and thought that this money was never meant to be mine anyway because of Divine / Universal reasons or some crap, and I moved on...
it is hard, but only on the first few tries, then it becomes habit so it becomes easier. And I have been scammed at least 8-10 times in the last 15 years... more than 10 times in my life, so I've become a bit insensitive to this, the problem was with my parents who argued for days about this, which is understandable because they've grown up in a society that was a bit fairer and more real than the technological and smoke and mirrors society we live in today, they're being bombarded from all sites by technology and zombies created by technology and they're old fashioned people, they only know how to turn the TV on / off and switch the channels, their smartphones are a mess and I dread using their phones when I need because they're full of useless apps, they have like 50-60 internet browsers opened up, etc... Even I suck at technology and I hate all of these "new tech" idiocies (smartphones for example are so useless to me and even dangerous, Steve Jobs and the CEO of the old Nokia didn't allow their kids to have cell phones, so this should tell you something)....Sometimes it can be quite difficult to move on.
