Are guest post links with 0 traffic worth it?

Been looking at the stats on some on topic guest post links I want to buy for my website, majority have 0 organic traffic.

Most had traffic at some point but they have since dropped to 0 as the amount of RD's went up, they are indexed but don't rank well enough for keywords to get traffic, should I be avoiding these links?
My logic is as google doesn't value these links enough to rank them, they wont pass much value on?
Am I wrong?

You're right to be cautious!
If a site has dropped to 0 traffic, it’s likely Google doesn’t see it as valuable, so it won’t pass much authority to your site. Go for links from sites with steady traffic and solid content, they’ll must give you way more SEO benefit.

for the time being, yes! Maybe they fix their stuff in the future and pick up good traffic, but for now I'd avoid them

Now, to answer the question in your title as that one caught my eyes first... I would say that guest posts with 0 traffic might still be worth getting if the site is good, overall. You see -due to their nature - guest posts always start with 0 traffic and 0 authority since they're just freshly published content and this type of content always starts bare bones

But if the site is good overall (it's very active in terms of content published, links acquired, and user engagement) getting a guest post on that site can be worth a lot down the road. So, you gotta check the history of the ranked keywords, traffic volumes, and number of indexed pages of the website over the last 6-12 months and if you see an upward trend, and if the site looks good overall (ie. quality content, not many OBLs in each article, clean beautiful design and navigation, etc) then you should consider guest posting on that site even if the price is a bit higher than the norm.

My inbox is full of guest posts urls for sale, but when I run a check on the links, they all follow the same pattern that used to get traffic and have since crashed and now get 0 traffic.
The amount of links I've been sent that follow this pattern of now getting 0 traffic made me question if they had value.

You're correct—if the pages have zero traffic and aren’t ranking well, Google likely doesn't value them highly.

At one point you could have a try if it is quite niche relevant and you notice potential growth in the future. but with very cheap price only.

but what if they help you rank in bing and DDG? Google's hegemony will come to an end soon, so you gotta look for options

It is certainly a bad sign but PBN units with 0 traffic still pass a lot of juice.

Trick is to place your backlink on a page with power which is easy with PBN (homepage).

Guest posts on the other hand... you sliver of power from internal linking.

I would test this few times and see how fast the guest post indexes. If within day or two without any help, that's a good sign that robots still like to visit and crawl the website, which would indicate there is value.

it looks like the domain has been penalized, otherwise I can't explain why it's lost all of its traffic... Even more reasons to stay away from it.

Now, it's also possible that this site gets a lot of traffic in other ways (social media for example), and here we only see the organic traffic. If that's the case - and considering that the UR is bare minimum but the DR is good - it might make sense to get a link from them, especially if it's a niche that google doesn't like (warez, movie streaming, betting / casino, anime, etc).

I would still not pay $100 for such a link, though.... but that's me! (a renowned cheapskate ) ... If you know that this website gets a ton of non-organic traffic and some of it will trickle into your website you might have different calculations and goals. But strictly from a ranking in google perspective I don't think this guest post it's worth $100+

The real link juice value (what you are paying for) is at the last meeting point of blue and orange lines.

Which is about 40 RDs.

After it's just a bloat. An attempt to negate negative effects of update hit.

Avoid those links and getting links from those kinds of websites doesn't provide much value for your website. Instead, you can focus on building backlinks from reputed websites.

If they are producing content on a daily basis and have a good amount of RDs and they are trying to get their traffic back then it might be worth considering them if the offer is good.

that can harm your site .
