No clue about NSFW, but my recollection from "back in the day" was that Tumblr was never anything other than a back-link pyramid aggregator and forwarder.

Good old days. Is there any other platform that could be used in a similar fashion?

Tumbler was the thing bcause of all the NSFW posts. Once they banned the 18+ topic few years ago that was the last nail in tumblr coffin.

The content does not have to be 100% adult, the still allow you to post relatively relaxed "port" if you can call it like that.

I used to manage a network of expired high-authority Tumblr accounts back when their link structure was in subdomain format (account.tumblr.com instead of tumblr.com/account). Used to get a massive boost for my CPA project pages.
