How often do you upload to your channel.

Hi guys,

I am looking for some general ideas, about the frequency of uploads—also a further thing to ask.

So I only started the channel a week ago not getting the best views yet but it's only early. So I post on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 8 pm UK Time, I am enjoying the whole process from start to finish.

I wanted to ask in your opinion do you think this is acceptable, these are not daily vlog videos, but all the content is my own that I have created.

Also is it worth investing in something like VidHQ for the channel for keyword research etc? Currently, I am using chatgpt.

Initial , you can post one videos a week. As the channel grows and there are good number of subscribers, you can reduce the frequency to one video per week and then start some more channels in other niche to diversify.

There are free tools for seo, you can simply check in Google and as for the video upload range, the standard upload is 2 videos a week, however you can definitely do 1 per week but make sure your video is unique and has good quality.

I say 2 times per week to maintain quality and quantity. What if i tell you viq iq and those stuff doesn't matter much. I guess it's good for beginners, but you really just need a good title, a good thumbnail and be able to maintain a good audience retention. Once you meet these 3 criteria, your videos will start taking off. Youtube is actually giving new channels a chance to gain the same traffic as big channels, get creative with your titles and thumbnails, that's the main thing. And ofc, quality content.

Thanks for the vidIQ heads up, at the moment I cannot seem to get the SEO score above 40 but they don't really wanna tell you how to fix that on their platform unless you become a paying member. I would like to think my thumbnails are good and I am trying to make the content the very best it can be.

This is exactly what I needed to hear, that and I watched a video when a guy said think of every video as a little nugget of gold as a future investment. You are right I loved that line "don't get bored, just enjoy the process."

For a niche game channel, I've been uploading 1-3 videos of 1-15 minutes and about 3 shorts a month. This past summer I noticed I was being discovered more often than having to drive my own viewers.

However, this game actually has elections for a council that works with the game developer for the year and I uploaded 28 interviews of about 1 hour each in 1.5 weeks. There was no way to space this out more as these interviews were being used to make voting decisions and there was only 2 weeks of campaigning.

What I find super interesting is I've completely lost the momentum in discovery since. I'm not sure if it was the amount of videos being uploaded in a short amount of time or the influx of traffic to the videos from the players. So now I'm back to my regular upload schedule to see if views and follows from discovery come back up to pre-election levels.
