I have 2 websites, in a completely different niche, one with a new domain and another with an expired domain, good metrics, a lot of relevant backlinks, no prior penalization. Both websites are in the adult niche.

The first website, after 3 months of doing "fine", just tanked and never recovered.

The seconds website, after just 11 DAYS tanked, and it doesn't seem to recover anytime soon.

Both websites have a nice backlink profile, a lot of interesting content, SEO done properly, a lot of traffic coming from direct and affiliate sources, a nice design with a good loading speed and still, they both tanked. I don't think it's a sandbox matter because both websites lost ranking completely. As you can see, the "Average Position" metric is gone.

In GSC I haven't seen any error of info about a penalization. Both websites were doing fine before the drop. Also, the websites are still indexed and they are still visible on Google, but for some reason, they're completely wiped out of the SERPs.

If needed perform a backlink audit and if any of the links were down, fix them. If you find any suspicious backlinks from any unwanted source, disavow them.
