Is Proton Mail good for cold email?

I'm wondering, what's the deliverability like compared to Gmail and Outlook for cold email?

I have never used proton mail but if you warmup the accounts you are using for 30 days at least and then start sending emails you should have a 70%+ inbox rate. Only if you warmup the accounts right thought. Here is some more information link.

Google and Microsoft are the best for Cold Email but the most expensive.
You can use webmail as a cheaper alternative that will get the same results.

I would also recommend no more than 3 email addresses per domain and a daily sending limit of 50 emails.

Proton SMTP is not reliable as Gmail or Microsoft, so it will effect your deliverability
Also anyway you can't send 1000 emails a day from your account dose not matter which email provider you use, regulation and spam filters got upgraded on gmail and Microsoft so forget about sending 1k or 500 emails from one account

Proton I think is not as reliable for this compared to Google.
However, if you are using a paid plan with a custom domain, your

@uznis Biggest challenge you will face with Proton Mail is to use a bridge. Proton unfortunately doesn't have a direct SMTP protocol (without the bridge installed locally on a VPS/Local Machine) to relay the emails out to the Protonmail servers. So it's impractical to use them for cold emails. I have previously installed the bridge on a VPS running mautic but still it was not worth the hassles. If you are planning to send a good volume of cold emails -

1. Google/Microsoft for sending 20-30 Mails per sender per day.
2. Setup your own SMTP with Mailinabox, iRedMail, Stalwart or any other open-source SMTP.

If you plan to use the smtp with high volume EMAs (email marketing applications) Go with PMTA or Postal and you will be sorted and use warmup limits to make sure your IPs are warmed up properly.

However, please remember it's a gradual game. If you plan to send thousands of emails from day 1 - You most likely will be banned by Google/MS or your cloud provider immediately.

If you really want to get the most bang for your buck, you can do it all manually. My deliverability is around 75-80%, buy the domain, host on a VPS, use hestia or cpanel for email inbox creation (3 inboxes per domain), set MX records, warm it up for a month, gradually send cold emails and only send 30 cold emails per inbox + 20 warmups (per inbox)

Indeed cannot compete with Outlook and Google ever. They are huge and spend millions on their IP stacks for deliverability.

Even if you get similar ~70% results - you are still fine spending on that VPS and mail server bro.

Yes, Gmail and Outlook are huge, and I think there is nothing comparable to them right now.

Indeed they are. If you can afford multiple Gmail and Outlook workspaces my suggestion is always to use them. Even we have got 200 odd mails with them.
