Hi everyone, for a few days I was wondering about using the old Youtube ID claim method again, which consisted of monetizing videos with music claims on YouTube videos, but this time I came up with the idea of doing it in YouTube Shorts so that it doesn't seem "fraudulent". As is well known, YouTube now adds the music to a music library that you can legally use in your shorts, so far so good, but my only doubt is how the distribution of royalties would be using this method in non-monetized channels, will the views be monetized in favor of the music producer or will YouTube simply pay a small amount for each time your music is used in a YouTube short?

Content ID claiming shorts with music has been around for a while now. If you want to do this, you have to partner with a company that specializes in content ID claiming (there's a few). They give you the songs to use and will pay you out, regardless if the channel is monetized for not.
Also do not try to use your own music to claim shorts, it will get removed. I tried to do that earlier this year and it got removed and I didn't receive any of the money i earned.

I've already experienced what you're saying about the music being removed, the only thing I want to know is how YouTube pays when using music from the music library in Shorts, will the views of the shorts be monetized as well as the content ID or will they just pay me a small fee to compensate for the use of the music in the YouTube short?
YouTube collects the ad revenue generated by shorts and splits the revenue between creators and music artists. For example if YouTube collects $1M in ad revenue, $450K goes to creators and $550k goes towards music artists. It's then distributed to everyone based on the views they get.
This means if someone uses your music from the library, YouTube will pay you based on how many views shorts using your music gets. Everyone gets paid in the end but music artists get paid more due to them having a higher allocation of the revenue split.
Have you checked this yourself or read it somewhere else?
I make money from shorts and I use music in them to boost my revenue because of how shorts ad revenue is distributed.
Using copyright music in a short does not affect your revenue which is why many shorts channels also use the content ID method to increase their earnings.

no way dude , this is ridiculous. In long form vids, the video maker wont receive anything and the music owner gets everything
