I don't understand how do (quite a lot) of Fiverr freelancers get hundreds of jobs within 4 months, even when their work is mediocre and crappy, and they're charging relatively high amount of $.
Do they get friends to buy their gigs (and pay them back) to boost their reviews up and up, until the algorithm picks up on them?

Buy reviews to climb up the ladder quickly. It's very competitive. But it also comes down to your ad copy and how convincing it sounds to the potential buyers.

Forget Fiverr, it's just too competitive
There are lots of alternative freelancer websites that you could offer your services without needing to buy reviews and pray for a purchase

Yes, I sell on Fiverr. The thing with those crappy designers is that they cancel before they get a bad review and just get reviews from the people they are confident will leave a 5 star.

What level are you?

I gotta agree to this. If you feel Fiverr isn't just for you, there are plenty of freelancer websites.

I was a level 2 until recently. Went down a level recently. But that's what those crappy sellers do. I am not one of those, I try a different route.
LOL WHAT?! can they actually lower you from level 2? How does that work?

It doesn't matter what you're selling - if the marketing is done right, anything can sell at any price. Their service might not be the best, but their marketing is top-notch, which is why they're getting so many orders. Customers get 3 days to review the work which is simply not enough for many categories like SEO. They think it is good work so they leave a positive review.

Yes, they do. If you just don't meet the requirements you can go down and also views can go down with this.

Absolutely true. Or it's very simple jobs that the clients could easily do themselves but just don't. It's like that guy calling and paying a plumber at 7 in the morning to replace 4 screws to hold a hose up.

Don't tell me it's Upwork or Freelancer.com lol

Upwork it's very expensive to bid for projects and Freelancer.com is a total slaughterhouse lol

Fiverr is also very stupid. I saw 1 freelancer completed 13,800 orders in 40 months. Which means they received 11 orders continuously for the past 3+ years. While some people pray for only 1 order a day and some don't get any orders for months! Totally imbalanced!

It's probable a few consultants use strategies like getting companions to purchase gigs for positive surveys to support their meanings and perceivability.

You get three days to accept the order. But you don't have to leave a review until months later. So if they offer things like index guarantee or things like that, you shouldn't leave your review until that site is actually indexed.

Fiverr does push you to leave a review right away but you can just skip it for now.

I totally get what you're saying, it can be frustrating to see freelancers with mediocre work getting tons of jobs. Some might boost their reviews with friends, but often it’s about using the right keywords and getting those first few sales to trigger Fiverr’s algorithm.

Don’t get discouraged! Focus on delivering great work and providing excellent customer service. It might take a bit longer, but once you gain momentum, your quality will speak for itself and you’ll stand out from the crowd. Keep going, your success is coming!

Probably not. They are just constantly selling little and/or simple things.

I tried to get back on fiverr, I have 8 5-star reviews, added some gigs, they ranked first days and then they dropped down completely. I don't understand how I will make a sale if they don't promote me.

Yeah it's true for some work in SEO but most other work has nothing like this like graphics design and WordPress set up etc. People only order once and often forget to visit fiver again to leave a review. In rare cases there are negative reviews and most other new clients don't see them or just ignore it and proceed to order. The cycle continues!
