Edmond Lee paid me $340 on Sep 14, 2009, to do work on his WP blog. Well I did the design, added all the plugins, and got it all squared away.The only issues was having the post thumbs not auto posting. I explained to him that it was with the script not me.

Well After that he made a reply on one of my threads here, we talked via PM and AIM and got things squared away. Now after 9 months he files an Unathorized claim with paypal.

DO NOT trust this guy, You will do all the work then a year later out of nowhere he will do a chargeback for the work you have done and you are screwed.

i think the site looks fine. Looks like some of the feeds are not working but that's not the issue with the design.

most WP design gigs are just that you design it give it back and they put their links in for the feeds and so on.

I would not sweet the charge back. Let Paypal do there thing you can show that you built the site which is what you agreed on. Its a pain but your in the right.

The bad thing I've noticed about paypal, unless I just have it set wrong is that unless you shipped a physical product and can provide a tracking number, they won't even let you dispute a charge back.

I just had someone do that with me for a legit reason on their part. They signed up for something that my website is set up to autodeliver, but something has been changed on my host regarding the php mail function. Since the site just runs on autopilot anymore I don't check the associated email often enough sometimes. Well this time there was a problem and as far as the customer was concerned they didn't get what they paid for and I wasn't responding to their emails.

When I looked at the open claim there was no option to respond other that refunding the money before the claim runs out, or provide proof the item was shipped. I was able to send the customer his password manually once I caught there was a problem and so she canceled the claim, but if it had been a different set of circumstances I don't see where paypal gives an option to dispute a claim that doesn't incude a physically shipped product.

If there is I'd like to know so I can make the necessary changes on the account.

@OP - that really sucks you got burned for $340. It seems like a claim that long after the transaction should really be scrutinized by paypal a lot more.

Especially since he's filing an unauthorized charge. If you have any of the original emails between you, then you should maybe try giving paypal a call. If you can show he did authorize the charge, then he should have filed a claim withing the 60 days or whatever that paypal requires. Filing an unauthorized charge is actually fraud on his part, not just against your but against paypal.

You're probably just gonna have to bite the bullet and accept it in the end though.
That really sucks.

edit - I see Ed4252 responded while I was typing my reply. Is there some explanation about why you waited 9 months before doing a chargeback on the transaction? That just seems a little bit of an excessive amount of time imo.
I actually have done unauthorized charge reversals myself, but that was in the case of actual unauthorized charges that I had just not noticed till later down the line. Never on a transaction I was involved in and didn't think it was worth it. I've always done that within 30 to 60 days, and even those have been VERY rare and over outright scams.

But I am no Dr. I will be picking things back up tomorrow, I have just been worn out and havent got out of the bed. The wife told me you messaged last night but I never moved.

I apologize for the length of this but I dont think neither of us expected the problems that has occurred. I just cannot believe that doing a gaming autoblog is this much hassle, It really isnt the gaming, its getting the thumbs and images to get posted also.

Well I called paypal and they said theres no way you can do a "Unauthorized" claim when I have all your personal info through IM and emails. All I had to do was take a screenshot and send them the proof. So nice try.

No response past few months? Look at my reply to your response on my thread. Looks like it wasnt in Dec. it was 5-23-2010.. So how have I not responded since Dec.

ED, why didn't you just send a polite pm to xplicit instead of getting paypal involved? You know they are a bunch of fuckers who won't resolve it fairly anyway and in the meantime xplicit is now under watch there.

Its only $40 bucks too. Sometimes blackhatters that dream of thousands a day can sure be cheap.
