I have been all over X, Facebook and BHW reading about this update and what does it even mean now? Should we wait out? Keep pinning normally?

Some accounts have recovered, and some not. Mine hasn't. When i open my pinterest feed (personal account) I see half pins + half ads. They are ruining the platform. I have heard mixed opinions.

Some say that it is just a spam filter and we will recover eventually, and some are giving up on the platform. I don't want to give up yet, but it is frustriating.

I changed my pin strategy and half of my pins are savable/inspiration without links attached to them because they are easier to boost impressions and saves. But still, not even a small increase in impressions.

I will give it 1 or 2 months before giving up on this journey. On the meantime, I will try to grow other sources of traffic and make it more diverse.
You are making good progress, keep us updated please.

how much amount of pins can I do each day to be safe on pinterest. I launched my blog 1 month ago and last week I created pinterest business account. Till now I did 4 pins and 1 video pin.

My niche is artists of all kinds. What is your thoughts about this niche for pinterest? And what is your niche?

I just discovered your journey and it looks promising despite the pinterest update.

You're barely in the beginning and don't have much content yet, so it's just matter of building it.

Focus on SEO, after all it should be the main traffic source for a blog. The first several months are the hardest for a new blog, just keep going.

Good luck!

yes no doubt, pinterest is a good place to drive traffic. good luck for ur journey man

Guys, I will not be writing an update here until I see some positive stats again. I have been discouraged by the update and put this project on a hold. But, I do not plan on giving up anytime soon.

I noticed now that the algorith is showing again normal pins versus ads. (When the update happened my feed was full of ads it was annoying, but now it seems to be back to normal).

I am doing some pivots in the type of articles I am posting, and will be limiting AI as much as possible.

I am also posting daily on X about this journey if anyone is interested :)

Any results so far ?

Do not be jealous of other taking journeys. You do not know what they went through to reach here.

hard done by the update, this shows the importance of not putting all of our eggs in one basket (something I always struggle with). I hope you overcome the issues and reach success. I'm rooting for you and believe you can achieve your goals, let's get this bread!

So AI is a big no to use now ?

So AI is a big no to use now ?

I do not want to use AI as I want to build a legit blog that will not be banned in the future. (Journey bans AI blogs and Pinterest algorithm doesn’t favour them)

Anyways, I am not giving up, I am pushing more pins and doing a different strategy.

New blog post= 4 pins posted every day + 6 pins posted every week

And I will push with more pins. I have been taking a step back and studying big accounts with 10m+ monthly views and trying to find out what works for them.

bro i have a tool which generate pins automatically you just have to give pics and text. and i also have famous pinterest marketers courses and pins creation courses. if you want i can give you

So, as you can see, I failed on this journey.

But I decided to do some self-reflection on why it failed and what I could have done better. I think there are some of you that can learn from my mistakes and not repeat them. Or skip to the end to find out how I will pivot now.

Reasons I failed:

- I was not 100% disciplined. I worked based on my motivation and didn't do half of the work I was supposed to do. I was feeling lazy and tired from my 9-to-5-day job, and I thought I had time. (Spoiler: I didn't, haha) And now, it has been a whole year, and my domain is expiring next week.

- I didn't have a solid plan, and my hardest thing to do was to write and publish content. I was aiming for 10+ articles a month, and I was posting 0-3 depending on my mood. So, I wasn't consistent with posting pins. I spent most of my time researching rather than doing the work.

- I spent around 200-300 dollars on this project, with no profit. It is not a big amount though, but I was hopeful to break even.

- I started doing drugs lol (biggest regret, the hangovers were awful). :anyway:

- Pinterest had the algorithm update, which was when I reached 1k outbound clicks/month and was getting ready to push more content and go for 10k, then it went overnight to 0!! I have tried everything to save the account, but it is still stuck to 5k impressions and 0 outbound clicks.

Depression, seeing others succeed and I wasn't, etc. wasn't helpful. :weep:

- My home/environment was a mess all the time, so it was hard to focus/work on an environment that is cluttered

Sooooo , those were the negatives, but there are also some positives.

I learned a lot on how to setup the website, cut time with AI, Pinterest marketing, writing articles, SEO, backlinks, etc... I was clueless on how much work it does need to make it work.

Now I am not abandoning this thread; I want to turn it around and make it a success!!

So here's my plan:

- I will let my current site expire and will start over with a new website.

The big mistake was trying to write on topics that I'm interested in and not topics that perform the best on Pinterest. Now I will go to a list-article style, with lots of pictures and a massive niche on Pinterest.

- I will create some time slots of focus work that will be aimed to producing content, so I will not run out again.

- I will find topics from the Pinterest trends look that are very popular but not antagonizing product pins (because Pinterest wants to become a shopabble app)

- I have done some research and found 5-6 websites of successful Pinterest marketers (most of them are on X) and will try to imitate their sites. (Not copy, but will find what common practices they all do and are successful.) There is also a tool where you can see all the recently accepted blogs to Journey (Mediavine), so you can see what still works and is successful.

I really think that journey threads should also show the failures, as we can all learn from them. Fingers crossed, that I will be successful this time!

That's it for now!
