yes, that is correct. I'm not saying for certain that this is the means for the porndude to get all his links, however this is a very popular method, I have done it many times. Especially in the world of adult websites, where links aren't just as easy to come by . So site Y links to site X, which in turn links to site Z (which is another site also owned by site Y). (That's it simplistically explained).
