I know, impossible right? But, just saw somebody who did it. They started July 25. Sitting at 1.19 millions now. It's a shorts channel that went viral.
They sell slushy cups through a link of their store on the channel. Their biggest videos consist of AI voice dialogue while showcasing the product. The video script is basically a dialogue talking about their cup giveaway criteria. They say that if you like, watch 3 times and subscribe they will send you a cup. People fall for it everytime and do the steps expecting to receive the cup. This drives engagement, watch time and subs rates through the roof which make them go viral. They say every week they pick someone to donate a cup - which I don't know if it's true. They are definetely selling with the massive traffic they got.
Very simple and slick! In my opinion they are misleading people into believing that if they follow the steps they will get a cup. Kinda harmless though. Whoever is too naive to believe they will get a free cup is just wasting a bit of their time - which if they are watching shorts that's already what they up to anyways lol.
I bet they are dropshipping and making bank. The cup is clearly not made by them. Is another brand which probably they get through a cheap supplier and get a high profit margin.
I thought videos like these didn't work in 2024 - especially on YouTube, the whole concept sounds like some scammy raffle only old people who use Facebook would fall for. Guess I am wrong.
They know what they are doing though. Adding easter eggs on the vídeo to get comments and reactions - like sudden frames with a fly inside the cup or filming cup with mud in it. People fall for it everytime lol.
What do you guys think? Organic? Paid for the engagement and subs? Seems like a hell of a nice strategy to use maybe with another product.
Channel name is MakeItSlush. Found the owner of the channel: MoMike Chamberlin, he has a video about how he did it.
PS.: reposting because I did the dummy noobie mistake of posting links.
