I've been in search engine optimization (SEO) for a while. Now it is time for me to do a book project on the topic. I'm using artificial intelligence (AI) as a "ghost" writing assistant – it's been a fascinating process so far! The inspiration actually came to me while browsing blackhatworld.com.

I'll document my journey writing this book in this thread.

Note: You can't sell your book here. You need to upgrade your account first.

Welcome to BHW and good luck on your journey.

I'll be following your journey on writing this eBook. Good luck, you got this!

Here's how I started this project of writing an SEO book using AI.

First, I logged into the free AI website and asked it to create a comprehensive list of SEO topics in learning order. After a bit of tweaking, we settled on eleven chapters. I pasted these into a plain text document. I separated all the chapters and sub-sections into separate plain text documents and copied the prompt I'd use to generate content specific to each chapter title and sub-section. For example, a text file named "chapter-01-section-01.txt" and so on. At this point, I've used AI to help develop the book's outline and created separate text files with unique prompts that I'll use to develop those chapters and sections.

I took the first chapter and section text file, copied the prompt, and pasted it into the AI. I had to tweak the prompts a bit to get more out of them, and eventually, I was satisfied. I updated all the text files.

I plan to sell this on Amazon. So, I downloaded the templates from Amazon. I want to sell a hardback, paperback, and ebook/Kindle edition of the book, which means I had to download multiple templates. I also had to download cover templates.

I opened the hardback template and pasted the results for chapter 1 section 1 into it. It looked nice.

I went through several sections of my text files, inputting the prompts into the AI, copying and pasting the results into the text documents. I kept the original results in the text file in case I needed to go back, basically as a reset option. I then copied the text documents into the template. I could only do a few of these a day due to AI limits. This became my daily routine for a week and a few days. Every day I'd copy my prompts, copy the results, paste the results, and paste the results, over and over. Eventually, I did this for all the chapters and sections. This resulted in around 150-200 pages of text.

Next, I'm working on the Glossary and then the Index. Once I've finished those, I'll work on formatting and the cover.

You joined BHW! You filthy cuss animal! This is the perfect place to start posting. Be careful to not overshare.

I will definitely be following your journey!

Use tags here.

Also, hit me up off-line, I want to ask you about that list you shared.

I've got almost 1,300 terms to include in the back of my book so far. The current layout has the book content at 200 pages, plus the Glossary, plus the Index. I'm estimating the Glossary to be around 250+ pages right now. I want this book to be a strong reference and resource for people getting into SEO. All the books I keep flipping through have great glossaries and are well-indexed. Once I finish writing the definitions, I'll post a list of the terms and would love to know if you see any glaring holes in words or terms I might have missed.

After the book is finished, do you plan to sell it also on BHW?

As Mark so rudely pointed out, I plan to sell it exclusively on Amazon initially. I don't plan to sell it on BHW, but I've already mentioned BHW a few times in the text.

I'm currently working on the Glossary, which is pretty big. More on that later.

I have 10000 books like that.

Consider the error of assuming selling text is a valid idea.

It is NOT a valid idea.

Give information for free and then wait for feedback, then learn with other people.

I can give you a complete SEO strategy in 3 sentences. Teaching incompetent people to do foolish things like SEO is not even useful to society. There's nothing to speak in SEO, really.

Get cheap domains, find large clouds of keywords, add Claude integration with flows and auto corrections on free hostings and that's all there's to SEO. Rent some extra links on top and voila. It's done.

If you want to write, consider writing about business, industrial revolution 4.0, aws, clouds and such stuff. It glues high figure players to screens.

I'm highly skeptical that you have 10.000 books on SEO.

Consider the error of assuming selling text is a valid idea.

It is NOT a valid idea.

I've been doing SEO since before it was called SEO. Writing isn't for me, but rather for anyone who wants to get into SEO but doesn't know how or where to start.

Amazon itself is proof that selling text is a valid idea.

I can give you a complete SEO strategy in 3 sentences. Teaching incompetent people to do foolish things like SEO is not even useful to society. There's nothing to speak in SEO, really.

I'm not so sure everyone who's interested in SEO is incompetent.

So, which three sentences of yours were the magic?

The ghetto SEO solution you provided might work like how a homeless person has a job holding a sign. Sure, it might yield results, but is that how you want to live? You're missing the art and craft of SEO. By this statement, it's clear you're just trolling here. Part of this BHW Journey is to show people like you that there's room for growth.

If you want to write, consider writing about business, industrial revolution 4.0, aws, clouds and such stuff. It glues high figure players to screens.

I'm not looking for screen time. I'm looking to glue people to a more ancient technology called paper. Maybe you're missing the point here.

Writing about business did cross my mind, and it's still something I might do, but it's a highly saturated market, and I couldn't narrow down exactly where in "business" I wanted to land and write. The other topics are great, but they're too niche. Yeah, I'm confident writing about SEO is a great place for me to start. Thanks for your feedback.

Here's a list of glossary terms to be included.

This is me spilling the beans.

What am I missing?

I've narrowed it down to around 800 terms, but this doesn't include redirect entries. This list should be in alphabetical order, so if you're looking for a specific term, it should be easy to find if it's there or not.

I am pausing here so I can go do something that will actually make me money. But you appear to have a lot of gaps. Hopefully others will help here.

He's not trolling, our dude Reaaski (aka OccultKingdoms) is not a SEO guy, he's into automations and wants to automate everything. But lately he seems to criticize SEO on a forum filled with SEO ppl which makes him feel like living on the edge :D

Anyway I wanted to add my idea about a SEO book that ppl would actually be interested in, at least me anyway. A lot of ppl would like to know what works in SEO after the HCU and recent core update (must be something decent, not move to socmed advice). So if you could document a solid case study of a successful website, I'm sure many would want to read it (even if it's just 6 pages). But if you're going to write a 300 pg collection of SEO concepts from the last 20 yrs, not many will be interested.

That sounds like a compelling project! Documenting your journey of using AI for SEO-focused writing could provide valuable insights into both AI's capabilities and SEO strategies.

Good luck, but unless you are an expert on SEO with relevant experience, then I doubt it will have much value and probably won't even make sales on Amazon Kindle.

There are numerous books written about SEO where the author clearly has no clue, so please don't be that guy.
