Problem with target audience in order to sell products/services

When setting up your ad campaign, make sure to select the specific countries you want to target. Both Instagram and Tiktok offer tools that allow you to target users based on their location, age, gender, interests, and more. Make sure to narrow down your targeting to include only users in Tier 1 countries.
Im from portugal (poor country) and I cant find the location option in tiktok ads.
Which part of Setting it is located?

going try that. have to exclude option tons of countries so. sometime audience sliding to tier 2 and tier 3 countries without I consent it.
But ok I will try exclude option. seems the only option.
thanks

Some aspect that I found weird in this forum is nobody here complain about the growing and growing audience that naturally come from 3rd world countries like india , pakistan, kenya, etc on all big social networks and forums flooding marketplaces with crap, and ruin a lot of business from people from Tier 1 and tier 2 countries that want sell and do business (nothing against those countries but facts are facts!)

I write this thread because I'm often being harmed by 3rd world countries in many ways specially in my sales...

For ex.: I write a thread on Reddit about a topic related to Tier 1 countries and related to industries on Tier 1 countries and I get flooded with comments, useless non relevant opinions, and spam, from people of 3rd world countries. That are happening constantly in the last 2 years. that's horrible TBH and its getting difficult make connections through social media with Tier 1 audience!

Anyone notice that too?.
Yeah, I've noticed that too. Even after filtering audiences, it's frustrating to still see irrelevant audiences and traffic from non-targeted countries. I don't understand how their algorithms work sometimes. For instance, Twitter used to be fun with exciting interactions on threads and posts. However, after monetization, there's been an influx of irrelevant videos, promotions for views, and too many onlyfans account promotions. People always find ways to exploit algorithm changes and updates for their own benefit, which often ruins the experience for those who are trying to play by the rules.

Yeah I agree with you.
I'm not a xenophobic person, but facts are facts!
People from 3rd world countries are super intrusive when I promote something in social media for free.
Even now in tiktok I launch a video and I share it reposting from big tiktok accounts from United States, and they push a lot thousands of views and shares so I can get 200k views per video. But besides that good performance in videos after few hours the Indians , Pakistanis, Nigerians, Kenyans, Egiptians, Marrocans , and all those populated 3rd world countries start to post stupid comments and following me asking for my products for free or asking stupid questions intrested in buy it but end up always never buy nothing!

then when I try to repost only from genuine USA accounts , and make some shouts from them with USA audience only it keep happens the same situation.
I think algorithms are all manipulated nowdays.

Nowdays I dont even accept payments from 3rd world countries because when I used stripe payments a lot of people from India and pakistan that came to my store purchase products using stollen credit cards and it makes me get in trouble on Stripe. Then because of that Stripe close my account!

I refuse to accept their audience again.....

I totally get where you're coming from. It can be really challenging to navigate these issues, especially when you're trying to target a specific audience and end up dealing with unwanted comments and potential fraud. It seems like the algorithms of these platforms still need a lot of work to provide more precise targeting and filtering options.

You are already collaborating with influencers or partnering with brands that have a strong following in Tier 1 countries might help you reach your desired audience more effectively but as you said you are facing the same problem with this approach too. Sometimes leveraging the networks of others can provide a more focused and engaged audience but hard luck here as well.

Have you considered exploring other marketing strategies or platforms that might offer better targeting for your needs? For example, some businesses find success with email marketing campaigns, where you can have more control over your audience. You could also look into platforms that cater specifically to your target demographic or industry, using this option your posts will not go Viral though. :)

Yes I already try other platforms that specifically target my demographic but I barely have luck.
Do you know any alternative platform which I can focus only on Tier 1 countries?

I am not sure what product/services you are offering, however one alternative platform you might consider is LinkedIn. It’s more professionally oriented and has advanced targeting options that might help you reach a more specific, higher-quality audience. LinkedIn's ad targeting lets you filter by job title, company, industry, and location, which might be beneficial for targeting Tier 1 countries. While LinkedIn is known for B2B marketing, it has a growing base of individual professionals who are potential consumers. If your product or service appeals to professionals or aligns with career advancement, professional development, or other business-related needs, Moreover, its targeting can help ensure your ads reach the desired demographic in Tier 1 countries.

Besides LinkedIn, you might want to look into Pinterest Ads. Pinterest also has a large user base in Tier 1 countries, and their ad platform offers detailed targeting options. And, Pinterest users often have higher engagement rates and purchase intent compared to other social platforms.

cool I would try LinkedIn.
but did you personally got success in your business with some ad platform?

Switching your social media accounts to Business accounts is a smart move for targeting specific demographics and optimizing ad campaigns. To focus solely on Tier 1 countries like the United States and Canada, you can refine your ad targeting settings on both Instagram and TikTok. Ensure that when creating your ad campaigns, you select the appropriate audience targeting options, such as location targeting, where you can specifically choose the United States and Canada. Additionally, utilize other targeting parameters like demographics, interests, and behaviors to narrow down your audience further. Regularly monitor your ad performance and adjust targeting settings as needed to optimize results and minimize exposure to Tier 3 and 3rd world countries.
I'm using Tiktok, Instagram and others social networks for almost 2 years. Recently I converted my accounts to Business account.

In my campaigns I'm trying to focus only in Tier 1 countries like United states and Canada , in order to find people with more "purchase power" and more potential buyers.
But people from Tier 3 and 3rd world countries still appear all the time showing up in my reels and videos (around 95% are 3rd world countries).

There is any way to fix that and configure Instagram ads and Tiktok ads correctly to ONLY show to Tier 1 countries?

Yes, I've had some success using LinkedIn for client business. As I have said LinkedIn has been particularly effective for reaching professionals and decision-makers. The detailed targeting options and the professional nature of the platform have helped me connect with a more engaged and relevant audience. Also, I've found that the leads generated from LinkedIn tend to be higher quality, which has better chances of improved conversion rates.

Well it looks it's a common problem in 2024. We need people with money in their bank accounts and "pockets" mainly from Tier 1 countries!!
otherwise we are always getting hit by broke people from Tier 3 countries that only make me and other businessmens lose our time! I'm sick of the comment stupid things and ask products for free in comment section..

Look at this broke guy in attached picture.. horrible situation..
