I’ve continuously put in the effort for years with my sites, and they behave the same way. I see a very common sequence that at this point i can almost predict future rank positions. My websites main keywords always tend to pause at top 30 positions and then jump up to peak (10-15) and then do a big drop (35-40) 12 hours later.

What am i doing wrong? My SEO is semantic, i focus heavy on topical authority & my off-page are relevant, high quality links from real brands.

Any tips, and is anyone else in the same boat?

if you do all these and you're still not getting top 10 it (usually) means you're in a brutally competitive industry (education, health, finances, business, etc) and / or you're lacking EEAT and / or enough authority (ie: more and better links).

That's all I can guess without knowing your niche and keywords.... although, take into account the fact that google are pretty random lately, and they also target the good guys with most of their updates. Only the rich, the scumbags, and the hackers seem to rank nowadays, if you're a small biz / good guy you're royally screwed :D

It depends on niche. Some are easy to rank some are very competitive.
You also have to take care of Good content.

How long you had been doing SEO ?? Do you read latest changes to ranking factors ?

But i seriously need help, i am losing hope. It’s honestly giving me depression, it’s daunting when you know your website(s) are not missing anything besides of course more links, could never have enough. But as far as onpage, it should be graded amazing to Google’s standard

Hey Mate - Seems, you are doing aggressive link building ?

Prefer to work like Drip Feed - https://parker2010.com/what-is-drip-feed-seo-advantages/
Prefer to get quality backlinks that remain live for longer.
Prefer to build backlinks everyday / regularly. Use unique content in each post.

Steve
Ok - while that’s important, how come some people get away with hundreds of backlinks weekly in rank in the top? Me personally i’m doing 7-10 highly relative, non-spammy backlinks

I tend to track sites around me, and i don’t see anyone ever dancing in position as much as my sites. They stay there, some with a lousy DR UR of below 5, with less than 5 referring domains, blatantly doing PBNs/301 methods

Probably you dont do anything wrong. After recent google updates top ranks are dominated by big brands and other crap.

BACKLINKS could be the main factor for not ranking mate .

There is concept called Google Dance . As per that, when Google try to determine the new websites or pages for ranking , It's common to face the ups and down in the ranking at SERP.

According to my knowledge, you need to check that all pages of your website have the enough quality with it's content and keyword density.

Some time most of the people concentrate on their home page or selective pages only. But it might be one of the reason for your ranking ups and down.

And please check your keywords that are relevant to your niche or industry .At the same time ensure with the social media signals apart from the on-page & off page SEO which gives more traffic to your website and drastically increase your ranking position.

Each niche market has specific patterns and ranking factors.

You do not need so-called niche-related links, aka niche edits or guest posts, to dominate most niches.

First, understand the backlink profile of competitors and check the anchor text ratio pattern.

After all, create decent content when you are building backlinks. Build some Web 2.0s with good content and create some buffer sites for your money site.

Then start tiered link building. You can easily do this with GSA SER, RankerX, or both. That way, you will be able to get your buffer site (T1) indexed, and you will start seeing new keywords added in Semrush, Ahrefs, or whatever it is. Over time, you will gain more citations and authority, which will help to dominate your site in the top 10.

Don't waste money on SEO packages if you are already doing SEO. Instead, grab all the tools you need and do it yourself.

Sometimes those so-called high-quality links you mentioned (if you outsource) will never work or will do more harm than good.

When you create content, make sure to load up your link-building tools with high-quality content, including images, videos, and generic anchor text that is useful for readers and looks nice to crawlers.

Despite semantic SEO, topical authority, and relevant backlinks, fluctuations in rankings occur. Consider technical SEO audits, user experience enhancements, and diversified content strategies to mitigate volatility. Engage with communities or forums to seek advice and share experiences, as others may have encountered similar challenges.
