Do you think my prices are fair?

You must determine your price, effort, and living expenses. Customers should not have a say in determining your price. You make your offer, they accept/reject it. If they think the prices are expensive, move on to the next :)

Laughing at the thought of a WordPress landing page for 2.5k
Yeah, but a guy must live you know .. =) .. But I also know another forum member that a couple of weeks/month ago did a onepager in WordPress for one of his clients at around $1500 though, took 5-6 hours if I don´t remember wrong. So not an uncommon thing. You just need to get the right type of customers.

Hello dear forum members, I am making websites and I am making 1 site in an average of 100 - 200 dollars band, they tell me that my prices are expensive.

Should I lower my prices?

I'm struggling because sometimes and most sectors I make special sites, how do you think my prices should be?
It also depends on the caliber of your work; high caliber work deserves high caliber compensation, therefore you can adjust your price in accordance with the caliber of your work.

What's to laugh there?

You'd be astonished to hear that an agency owner friend of mine has sold a WordPress site for over 30k €.

2k € is pretty much the lowest price he accepts for a single landing page.

Professional and modern designers aren't cheap. Neither are the guys who create the front-ends from Figma files.

At that point, WordPress is just used as a good back-end that is very easy to learn for non-techies.
Lowers the cost for the client in every aspect.

They don't have to pay for developers to create the back-end, they don't have to pay for consultation how to use that previously non-existent CMS, and when they want more functionality to their site, they most likely don't again have to pay for more development as they can use pre-existing plugins.

Some people just seek more professionalism than what you get from those $200 WP sites.

Do not lower your prices.
Raise your prices. By a ton.

Would you rather stress yourself out making 10x $100 sites or just sell one site worth even $1k?

Stop targeting clients who spent all/most of their budget on a single $100 site. It's a lot of money for them, and for that, they'll make your life a living hell.

Try getting clients that couldn't care less about spending $1k for a site.

You can measure the price in two ways:
  1. Your workload: the price should at least cover your basic workload
  2. Competitor price: if the service content is similar to that of your peers, the price should be about the same; if your service provides differentiation or additional advantages, the price can be slightly higher.

What specificly makes a website being worth 100USD, 2kUSD, 10kUSD?

Sounds like a scam to me. As someone who runs an agency as well. Those prices are ridiculous feeding on ignorant people.

Fair or not it's relative to your customer need, location budget. as the same ammount of money worth differently for the.

The most important is first it's worth it for you. If not that its not important, if you accept low paying work that took a lot of your time, and not worth the value. It will do more harm than good.

It is not, I don´t know where you live but agencies in the Nordic countries charges between $75-$200 per hour depending on agency. Salaries up here are very expensive, you need to atleast invoice $10K-$12K a month per employee to cover the basics in the company.

Your prices are fair and probably very cheap. Though that depends on the kind of site you're making for them and what it takes. If you want to charge mpre(which you should) you may have to look for better paying clients.

I live in the states.

This price is fair, if someone is saying that this is Expensive then they are looking for someone who offers free.
