no to be honest I don’t. Words can mean a million different things depending on the scenario and the person saying the word. For example my sister calls me buddy and she’s not meaning it in a rude way. I’m sure I’ve been called it by a male as well and not been offended.
But of course if in a scenario you feel like someone sees you as a lesser person than then, then the word buddy might come across in an offensive way.
But then, if you were perceptive then it wouldn’t matter what word they used, their disrespect would probably still be just as apparent.

In Greece when we want to insult someone we call him mounoskylo which means "friend" but sometimes it is used sarcastically. My best mounoskylo from school is getting married next week, I hope his wife won't stop us from being mounoskylo, as it usually happens when a man gets married.

Few considerations.
You need to sense if you can say it and also it depends on your position. A little bit of context matters too.
I wouldn't say sir or bro as these are worse versions of friend and buddy.
On a black hat forum buddy is ok. It's a community of carefree people!
On outside not really.
If you have doubts if the other party isn't gonna be chill, well stick to some other stuff.
Sometimes you'll be able to say if someone is chill by reading how they speak and what they say. Albeit these assumptions can be wrong.
Hence I'm not calling anyone anything.
Some people are really sensitive. You never know...

I think it comes down to culture, in some countries yes and in other countries no. If someone I am not a friend with in my country would call me buddy in our language I would assume he was from a ghetto suburb here, so it can set a stamp on the guy that says it depending on where in the world someone lives.

I say it all the time. Online and off. I use it to be friendly.
