A Forum is in Bold text when there's something you haven't read yet (unread). Once you read it, it becomes normal text.

I thought that your post might be valid and did some tests. Like when I see on incognito without login, still my reported issue is there.

What is interesting is that I do not see the behaviour you mentioned when I am logged in. May be the admin can explain that also in detail here.

Thanks. This may require some explaining if you're not used to forum functionality.
TLDR: bold = new content.

In brief yes this is standard forum functionality as outlined here https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/how-do-i-make-my-thread-title-bold.1291023/

First, you won't see the Jr. VIP section - where classified Ad Sites exist - without being logged in, so that aspect of your reported issue won't appear.

To your second point from the screenshot, @LilMosey is correct in his assumption, as he outlined. Note that this is only for logged-in users, so incogneto / any logged-out users, won't have this functionality.

The forum-level functionality works similarly to the thread level functionally
The THREADS you have visited in those forums since the last post was added are not bold. We have a newbie guide article covering exactly that just here https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/how-do-i-make-my-thread-title-bold.1291023/

When logged in you will see any sub-forums with new THREADS you've yet to visit appear in bold.

To mark the SUB-FORUM as read, you'll need to be logged in and visit just one of the unread THREADS in that forum. Note that you need to actually visit one of the new threads, not just the forum, for it to identify that you've read the new THREADS in that sub-forum. That forum will then drop the bold and appear as usual.

When it comes to
Attached. One section heading you can see is not bold.
the BHW Marketplace rules subforum. This subforum hasn't had any new posts for over 3 years (as we're consistent with our rules), so it will remain as read. However, if you were to sign up with a new account, then this sub-forum would appear in bold as unread, as, from a user perspective, it's indeed unread.

These are the nuances of forum life. But as per the TLDR above, if it's bold, then there is new gold for you to read.
