Here is the update for April 2024. Yet another increase in revenue.
In April I uploaded 3 new iOS apps. One of them made me $500 instantly with organic traffic just within 4 days after uploading. Seems like I found a really good niche. Currently this one app has an ARPU of $2.25 for me. Means I am earning $2.25 per user on average.
However, let's get into the summary:
Ad Earnings: $2900
Right now I am using two Admob accounts. Just to be on the safe side. In the past few months, I never had any problems at all with Admob. But, also I am not in any greyhat or blackhat niche. I don't use any banner or native ads, only interstitial and rewarded video ads. Especially the rewarded video ads have a very high ecpm. If people do
n't want to watch these video ads, they can just make a subscription and remove ads.
IAP: $11220
Total Earnings: $14120
Spendings: $3000 mostly for Google Ads and Meta Ads
This month I actually spent far more money on ads, just by trying different things. For example, I tried different ad sets for one of my apps on Meta. The results were just so-so. I have to figure out a way to decrease the CPI, so I can scale up more and more.
Total Profit: $11120
Here are some stats:
Subscribers
When the month began, I had 207 subscribers, the month ended with 281 subscribers.
MRR
Currently, I have a monthly recurring revenue (through subscribers) of $4808.
And last but not least I also include some ARR stats. Below is the annual recurring revenue. You can see the growth over the past few months.
Why does it start in August 2023? Because it was then that I started using RevenueCat. Also, before that, I mostly earned money through Admob alone. IAP was not really my priority. Also important to say: These are
ONLY iOS apps. I didn't integrate RevenueCat in Android apps. So they are not in the stats.
The app I am using for the stats is RCKit. They also always send me a push notification once someone subscribed or purchased something.
By the way guys, I was hiring a guy to get me better reviews for one specific country for one of my apps, this guy seems to bought reviews (maybe?) and Apple immediately detected it and sent me an email:
Hello XYZ,
We're writing to inform you that your company isn't in compliance with the Apple Developer Program License Agreement (DPLA).
Section 11.2 (Termination) states:
(g) if You engage, or encourage others to engage, in any misleading, fraudulent, improper, unlawful or dishonest act relating to this Agreement, including, but not limited to, misrepresenting the nature of Your Application (e.g., hiding or trying to hide functionality from Apple’s review, falsifying consumer reviews for Your Application, engaging in payment fraud, etc.).
Be aware that manipulating App Store chart rankings, user reviews or search index may result in the loss of your developer program membership.
Please address this issue promptly.
Sincerely,
Apple
So I would highly recommend any of you guys to don't do any of this stuff. They seem to detect it directly. I would never do anything like this again, because it is simply not worth it. I could lose all my earnings and apps, just because of some stupid reviews. Honestly, I almost shit myself after reading my company is not compliant and in the next paragraph was the word "Termination". But hey, it's still alive, and hey, it was a wake-up call. So yeah, they can definitely see whether someone is trying to manipulate ratings/reviews.
So what's next?
I plan to upload 5 apps this month. Right now I am working on one.
Then, I want to scale and increase the subscriber count to 400 at the end of May.
To scale, I will have to try different ad networks and work on ad sets/creatives to get the best possible CPI. So yeah, this month will be all about uploading 5 new apps and figuring out how to get the most out of the ad budget. I set my ad budget to $3000-4000.
