You can always get more traffic by submitting you site to web directories. Google high pr web directories and submit your link there.

Yes, i am sure that you got more traffic by the above links. As forum posting is also considered a good way to generate traffic to your website.
Web directories will increase the visibility of your website and it helps generating backlinks to your website also.
