I opened an email , am I hacked?

I opened a spam email in gmail on safari browser, it was a warning to me and asked me to pay.

The sent to address was suspicious “your@email” and sender address was some suspicious website address

Can my iPhone get hacked just by opening the email? Because on the internet I read it is possible by JavaScript to get hacked by opening an email only

I opened it on iPhone safari gmail browser I’m paranoid because the sent to address which should show my email but it didn’t and the address was “your@email” it didn’t show my gmail address where I received the email

It's very unlikely your iPhone got hacked just by opening the spam email. Opening the email itself shouldn't be enough. These scams typically require interacting with the email, like clicking a link or downloading an attachment.

But the receiver address which should show my gmail address was something like “your@email”

Isn’t it suspicious enough that it must have stolen some data of me. And my device IP address to further the attack even if I didn’t click any link ???? JavaScript can do that?

It was written “I hacked u while u watched a porn, viewed it” send btc in usd to this address or I expose u bla bla bla to your contacts…

The only thing what paranoid me was sent to address “your@email”

So simply downloading an attachment and not running it can get you hacked as well? Idk if there was any hidden attachment that was download automatically on safari browser gmail.. I was paranoid

yes, its often used by spammers, they sent it from your email, just means you are on a list somewhere. Same as yesterday though, be VERY careful about every email that comes your way, and understand its purpose thoruoghly.

by using an iphone on it's own, you are giving data out
every website you attend to, you give out a shit ton of your own data
every extension you add to your browsers, you are potentially granting them access to your entire browser
so, no, not really.

just turn on airplane mode for a minute or two and turn off. IP changes for most countries.

So, it is possible to get hacked after i have opened this email? Spoofing? i know nothing about it. Can they attempt further to get into my phone and hack me just by knowing my IP address? I use WIFI all the times.

and re-install it.
Check for any weird new apps that you never downloaded

Better not to open suspicious email on mobile devices. If you want you could copy the link and open it in an incognito/ private browser. That's a better move.

Check your Google Account for logins locations etc
Check for any 3rd party apps connected to it.
Remove anything unneccessary or doesn't look right.

If everything looks good, its more likely a spoofed email

are you sure...thank you i cant even recall if it had any attachments.. i did not check. Does gmail autodownloads attachments in browser safari?
But i didnt open any link and attachments if they were autodownloaded........
