Most so called "fast seo thtmes" are not really fast .....
my problem with these magazine/ news styled wordpress themes is this;

You configure in your Homepage settings to show the news/magazine style as "Home" page, but I can not edit the theme in the background with gutenberg. So with that I must buy third party plugins who have some news templates/blocks.
Where is the catch- easy my friend, when you have a "Home" page in news/magazine style you can not add hero header block with sign up, you can not add a contact block or at the end multiple H2 links with description who are linking to your category pages. But these features are so important today for your seo. I'm sure with the gutenberg structure you can't edit the news Home page too woth a premium theme.

So that you have an eye catchy hero header sign up and multiple links to your category pages well integrated in a news/magazine "Home" theme, it's not possible.

Your create a new Home page in wp backend to customize your Home page style and all what you see is a blank page. So with all that in mind buddy, there is so other way as using third party plugins like elementor or gutenberg who have some magazine/news blocks. And most gutenberg blocks plugins are really boring, you be forced to buy a gutenberg premium library or something.

Found a few elementor and gutenberg plugins with news blocks will try it tomorrow. The free Generatepress theme not loads really fast- standard speed- on the highest hosting namecheap plan with litespeed plugin + 7 more plugins ....

the thing about the GP plugin is that it includes only basic stuff within both the premium & free versions,
so, adding anything will require some custom code/tweak which are their plenty shared in their forums & other websites,

if you're looking for something ready, better pick up one of the news focus themes like newspaper, jannah, etc...
or use some page builder that works with the whatever theme post/page tempate

I think a news website (just like an e-commerce website) lends itself to a very structured layout, just like blogging, or CMS systems as a whole, was meant to be: You fill in the text into a textarea field and it gets displayed in a neat form.

I don't see the need for a bloated page builder, or full site editing, to "paint" many different looking static pages

I would look for a very minimal theme with maybe some basic news functionality, e.g. a decent index page layout for the news overviews

FSE themes are super I like it now I now understand how it works it's easy find a FSE theme with lots of beautiful designed patterns.
With FSE theme you not need mor eplugins and page builders.

On my site I have now 4 plugion thats all and a FSE theme has way less of code it loads fast.

I kept trying to use FSE themes, but I still can't get used to it, I feel a more difficult transition than the one from the classic wordpress editor to gutenberg.

Creating headers and footers seems very difficult to me, and I want a starter for an IT news site, but I can't really find anything....

Also, I've tried almost all the themes so far, but it's very difficult to find something good and fast, for example, neither WPAstra, Generatepress, blocksy or Kandece, offer an assortment of posts according to the number of views, which we do hard to use on a news site.

I'm starting to think about switching to Jannah or SmartMag, but these themes are outdated and have an old design.

I'm waiting for more ideas on how I could use even an fse theme with a popular post, or a theme that is not on themeforest and is newsworthy and very well optimized.

2024 brings us changes in what wordpress themes mean, I notice a lot the move to FSE-type themes, and I want to start a new news-type wordpress website project.

For the long term, I would like to start from scratch with a seo-optimized theme, very fast and with a modern 2024 design.

What theme do you advise me to use, is choosing an FSE theme an inspired choice? Or should I go to themeforest? The idea is that I want the site to be easy to edit and customize.

I'm looking forward to theme suggestions, of any type, both on themeforest and other themes, all that matters is that I want to hear suggestions from people who actually had very good results with the themes they use.
