Fast theme and seo for a news website

Hello,

2024 brings us changes in what wordpress themes mean, I notice a lot the move to FSE-type themes, and I want to start a new news-type wordpress website project.

For the long term, I would like to start from scratch with a seo-optimized theme, very fast and with a modern 2024 design.

What theme do you advise me to use, is choosing an FSE theme an inspired choice? Or should I go to themeforest? The idea is that I want the site to be easy to edit and customize.

I'm looking forward to theme suggestions, of any type, both on themeforest and other themes, all that matters is that I want to hear suggestions from people who actually had very good results with the themes they use.

Hello, unfortunately this is not the theme on themeforest, but another theme. I've studied a bit the theme I'm looking for and from what I can see it adds "CreativeWork" as structured data, and that's why I don't want to use it anymore because I have the impression that this structured data could negatively influence the positioning in google.

I would recommend to choose the Spectra One theme.

Thanks for the suggestion, I wanted to use this theme, even if it's something new for me and it would take me a while to learn how to use it, I saw that the theme is also used by https://kinsta.com/blog/ and even I like that header, I wanted to reproduce it.

Unfortunately for a news website, I would like to see a post list, spectra one + spectra builder, it only has a post grid and post carousel and this made me think of another option...

You can consider using Spectra One as a base theme and extend it with a plugin like this:

You can also consider using Post Table Pro, as it allows you to create custom post lists.

Hello, thank you very much for the suggestion. I tested PostX, but it makes the website extremely difficult... And with Spectra One it is very difficult for me to make related posts in articles.
 
Newspaper is a fast & easy to edit one for sure,
Add wp rocket, perfmatters to it and you'll get a really fast loading pages,

Make sure to have all of the other optimizations in point as well (lazy loading, images, ads, videos, etc...),
As well as a good hosting that won't slow down the website
 
I just installed blocksy, it seems like the best choice so far, it gets 99% in google pagespeed on mobile with Stackable - Gutenberg Blocks (Premium) and Blocksy Companion (Premium), it's amazing, it also beats LCP and CLS. Also, I can edit the pages as I want.

For sure, I will need a reviews plugin, otherwise for the popular post I will use jetpack.

I hope this theme is a good one, I am waiting for further opinions about it. Thank you!
 
I recommend you to use some child themes tough it will be faster.

Or use spectra one themes.
 
Astra or GeneratePress are both good options.
 
I too recommend the Spectra One theme. If you want some additional features means you can use Spectra Pro. but Spectra Pro is a paid theme. If you want a free theme with the same features means you can try Astra.
