I see a lot of people on here, many who are just starting out in business or on their journeys, posting stuff like "My Journey to Make make X amount of dollars", or "How do I make X dollars?", or "How to make X dollars off XYZ IM thing?".

If you're one of those people, stop and listen. This purpose thread is not to shit on anyone, even though I am going to be direct. But I want to be real with ya'll:

You're doing it all wrong. All wrong. And you're fucking yourself over.

Do you think that Bill Gates wanted to make a billion dollars? You bet your ass he did. But you know who else wanted to make a billion dollars? Your liquored-up brother-in-law who can't see his mushroom dick over his beer belly, that's who. And he ain't got it.

Your goals don't matter. Really, they don't. If you're a guy living in Armenia trying to make $30,000 a year to support a family, or a girl living in Pakistan who wants $10,000 a year to get out of her parent's house, or a kid from Minnesota who wants to make $200,000 and finance his grad school, you may superficially have different goals. But really, you all have the same you. You want money, and the more of it, the better.

Even though I used the example of the brother-in-law to make a point, it's not just dysfunctional people who have financial problems. It's teachers, it's supermarket clerks, it's doctors and lawyers. It's good people and bad.

The biggest difference between people who improve their financial situation and those who do not has nothing to with goals.

The difference is between those who focus on the process and those who focus on the performance. Always focus on the process.

Why does this matter? Because you can't control performance. You might have a great PBN and then the Google algorithm changes. You might try your hardest to research how to do paid ads, but it goes bust. You might manage your money wisely, but you lose your job. I could go on, but don't drink the Kool-Aid that the world is perfectly just or unjust. Chance happens to us all, and we control less than we think.

What you can do is learn how to brave the sea of Fortune. Learn how to do IM. Learn good financial practices. Learn how to recognize scams. Learn proper investing (not crypto and other get-rick-quick schemes). Learn how banks work and how to talk to investors. Fail and learn and fail again, and all the time, improving yourself and what you can control.

The money is just a side effect. Be happy, and enjoy your journey. I wish you all the best of luck.

Without a goal, you go nowhere. Goals are what make money. But you have to have goals, not dreams. The most important thing in all this is that you can think for yourself. Learn from others, but make decisions with yourself. What works for someone may not work for you. There are still a few things that we have absolutely no influence on, happiness and unhappiness. Everyone is different, give people a million dollars, some will overspend, others will invest incorrectly, others will be lucky and will invest correctly without any knowledge, the analyst may make a mistake. The great of this world became poor because of bad decisions. Unfortunately, there is also the other side - if you are born rich, you will probably remain rich despite bad decisions, but if you are poor and your leg fails, you may not get up again. An endless discussion because for you the way is to focus on work and for me to achieve the goal, we are going for the same thing but on different paths.

I feel like reading some political content for Internet Marketing. Kool aid I'm drinking.

Good post.

Stop these $5 per day threads!

If you speak about goals, back them up with great, proven in battle plan.

Focus on the process...

You build a solution, right.

It doesn't work first time.

So improve it 10 times!!!

And that's an example of how process is.

You don't give up because it stops working and the goal isn't met. You improve it and improve. And improve.

One day you'll find someone who's got some extra info for you and you'll be grateful that you kept yourself open to not ditching the project completely.

#longTerm

Goals are purely emotional. Process is work and you do it for work which is fun.

Goals are like grades. It's useless.

What matters is Action.

The only goal I have is survive and thrive once I survive. I can't thrive if I struggle to survive right.

Is the process or the outcome more important?
The creator of Alipay once said that he didn't like money, he liked the process of making money, but when he said that, he was already the richest man in China.
For small people like us who squeeze buses and take the subway every day, of course money is important, no matter what your process is, you eat shit and cry for your job, but everything is in vain if you don't make any money.

Money shouldn't be the thing that measures a person's worth, but without money. We can't discuss the topic of value

What matters is long term thinking, deep thinking, plans, adjustments, adaptations, not obsession on short term gains. Simple as that.

Money is always needed. That's undeniable.

It's that with proper planning without having any big advantage, you can easily pull off $300 per day in any country.

With focus on performance you may gain $2k per day but only for a couple of days and then go down to zero.

The trick is to get $2k per day consistently. That's like aforementioned $300 per day but deeper.

Yes, that's what I learned from him, I've watched his startup videos and their team doesn't aim to make as much money as they can, but to change the payment habits of Chinese people;
Now in China online shopping is very advanced, express delivery can arrive in 1-3 days, the fastest is less than 1 hour; as well as now Chinese people hardly use cash, 99% of them use Alipay and WeChat to pay. (Even beggars use Alipay to beg)

A goal focused journey thread is all about learning and others could learn as well following the journey, I´ll say keep posting those Make $xxxx amount per month threads .. There will almost always be something to learn from them by yourself or for others to get their thumbs out of their asses.

get their thumbs out of their asses.
Filthy, ok.

But if you want them to be posted, I would propose moderators to modify/ split journey section. As there are many starting at $0 and ending at $0 being abandoned. Going for 10 pages of such a journey is hell.

I asked them multiple times and they won't do that. :p

Should there be a special field in journey threads to mark them as profitable, progressive etc, so it's visible right on the list...

And another field where the OP can enter how many hours they spent to get results they describe...

That'd be comfortable

All I can say is I learned a lot from @lucky.sparks GOAL oriented journeys and I bet others has to. Saying GOAL oriented journeys is wrong, is wrong.

One thing is 20 years of work experience and $20k mo journey and another is 2 months of work experience and $20 mo journey. :P

Fantastic post about the correct mindset, OP.

Prioritize concrete, controllable goals over vague aspirations.

You might pour your heart and soul into your method, working relentlessly for a specific income goal, only to find you just can't reach it. Should you then feel bad, despite your hard work? Consider this scenario: imagine someone else, an influencer, effortlessly catapulting past that income goal with a stroke of pure luck. Does their sudden success outweigh the expertise and knowledge you've painstakingly acquired in your niche? Which person would be more capable, more experienced?

While hard work doesn't always guarantee success it brings great wisdom. The ability to learn, adapt, and persist through challenges is a skill set superior to luck. Rather than relying on chance, set achievable goals within your control.

"I aim to create one piece of evergreen content for my niche every week."
"I commit to calling three prospects daily and pitching to them."

These are good goals, ones that are entirely in your control.

Woooww

You could just wait a month, get funds and pay someone to run your ads... But no, better do everything by yourself!!! Fucking warriors. Haha

There's almost zero research and capital in most $0 journeys.

Some people want quick money and that's all right, but they can't all get quick money.

I agree that you should focus on the journey AND have goals, but this mentality of get rich quick in 90 days or something through means that are designed to take longer (like blogging that can take 90 days for you to just get indexed, much less make money) shouldn't be being used to get rich quick.

Go do OF or meme coins IF you have the experience and can pull it off, otherwise set realistic goals through realistic means.

No. They want quick money with no money. This is the problem. They also want to make money by posting these fucking threads. Fucking threads. I saw plenty of 100 posts by OP making under $1. Fucking threads.

There should be some red warning sign at the top of journey section "if it's small, just put it in your diary and don't bother us mfer".

Yea. Idk how they expect 100000000k per month by spending 80 cents and 2 mins a day.

Literally saw some "bloggers" using AI to generate a whole blog and being surprised it wasn't ranking and they weren't raking in the money.

But I suppose it's good for us that there are people like this who don't saturate methods that work and less competition for us.

If you saw that type of blog you'd know in 15 seconds what's up. :)

It'd take me less time.

I remember when AI was relatively new seeing almost 1/4 blogs bring ai generated and being able to tell immediately. They didn't (and still don't) bother editing it to add human touch, again expecting easy money.

They don't even choose niche or do keyword research just pumping random shit without even understanding how to write prompts and choose models for their case. What do they know about custom trained models? Nothing. Backlinks? Forget these unless they're the cheapest GSA spam comments overpriced to $1 per link while real value is below 0.1 cent.

Yea. Couldn't belive Google ranked these in the first page.

What custom trained model? I bet they didn't even use the api, went over to chatgpt and pressed copy and paste with the prompt "make a blog post on stupidity".
