How long before tiktok is banned ?

I was speaking to some guys who think that Tiktok will be banned within a year and possibly less.

I do know there is several parties are interested in the purchase but the chinese parent company has no interest in selling it.

Can they really ban tiktok ? Because wont people just use a VPN to get on the website ?

What are your thoughts on this ?

The sooner this stuff is banned from the U.S. and Europe, the better.
And no, people won't be using a VPN to connect to it. Desktop and mobile uses are different.

Why would people not just use a VPN to connect. You can do that on both mobile and desktop.

Because TikTok is a tool of repression used by the Chinese Communist Party, in particular to monitor the Chinese diaspora, which practices political censorship and interference in states.

If it is an interference, then why are several parties in the USA doing there best to try and strong arm them into selling it to them ?

Surely if it's a tool of repression, then why would they want to buy it so bad ?

I mean tiktok does spy but every other thing does it and to be honest tiktok does have some good content and its a good searching tool. They just wanna ban it because they want to be the ones that spy on us, so I assume it will get banned in less than a year unless they sell it.

My kid is not using tiktok he is watching tiktoks on youtube shorts and instagram reels and in general even if tiktok not exist he gets the same portion of bullshit so no matter if it exist or not, someone will replace it or already replaced it..

Using VPN will be impossible. If USA and Europe ban this, VPN companies will ban TikTok IPs too.

I totally get what you are saying. However, my point is... there propaganda is stating about spying or whatever. However, the USA and EU also do the same thing with facebook, instagram, YT. Hence why these countries also censor such apps. Nothing regarding the content been posted.

I've read the speculation and can see what your saying but it's very speculative.

VPNs can still access such apps. Hence the reasons when facebook and stuff was censored in Russia, the russians can still access it.

It's a data goldmine but "the pot calling the kettle black" expression comes to mind.

They essentially want to use Tiktok for the same purposes against there own people. Hence the reason they say all this stuff about it in one sentence but in the next sentence will say "But we will buy it off you" - Just looks to me they are trying to strong arm them into selling.
