I have to disagree here. I can put out an article in about 10 to 15 minutes, but it takes way longer than that to get a decent backlink.
The hoops you have to jump through nowadays to get backlinks makes it very time consuming.
If you already have a set series of places to go that you know are effective and you have accounts set up there, then maybe it is quicker, but that is a moot point for those that do not have the knowledge.
@bugeye - That's the
If I can do it then anyone can theory. It's a common mistake people tend to make. The reality is that different people have different talents.
Bottom line, there are times when it's better to do it one way or the other, but what's best in any given situation isn't always the same for everyone.
Personally, I like to outsource for large batches of backlinks. I also do my own backlinks to specific sites that I want backlinks on. The service will get me backlinks that I don't have available myself. I do them by hand to create some google friendly backlinks that look totally like natural links by real fans of my content. Even if the service duplicates some of the same sites it will be from different accounts and profiles.
I can whip out an article in no time. Anyone that ha read many of my posts will agree, I can get pretty verbose at times. But I hate writing, it's like drudgery for me. I would really like to outsource articles, I just haven't found a writer that can produce what I need.
(writers - please don't send me a pm!! I'll ask when I need anything.)
Outsourcing anything you aren't good at, don't have time for, or don't have the tools for can be a very good idea.
What your giving up though is some control of the process. If you learn to write articles yourself, then you'll get the type of articles you want. If you learn how to backlink, then you'll get links on the type of sites that you want.
@roodujardin - As already mentioned there are a variety of reasons your results haven't been as good as you hoped. The services you used might not have been as good as they should be. That's always a risk you take by outsourcing. I've always found that using a few different services kind of balances it all out some, but in your case you already did that.
If you do want to outsource still, then check out some of the services already mentioned in your thread. I posted a reply in another thread giving a set of guidelines to follow when selecting a service. It's pretty much common sense stuff, but you might want to take a look at it as well.

You also should really evaluate the keywords your using. Check your stats and if there's enough data you should see some trends.
Also use a backlink checker to see what backlinks are really turning up. Even if the service didn't ping the sites, they links should still show up. It'll just take a little longer for the crawlers to find them all. On the plus side though it also makes the linkbuilding appear more natural.
I think in your situation I would also give some serious consideration to what Micallef has said and start your own link building campaign. It will be more work, but you'll have control over all the specifics that way.
Hope all goes well for you. Good luck.
