This is just a knee-jerk reaction to seeing more general authority sites ranking for the type of stuff most of us search for.

There are MANY small/weak sites that do extremely well, but they are not thin info sites with only ads.

Guys.. Stop being so negative.

This is an ULTRA negative/failure mindset.

There are more opportunities than there are people to take advantage of them. You just have to put more energy into a business if you want to rank organically than you needed to a year or 2 ago.

They seem to have some other products outside their main shop. Mugs, clothes, laptop sleeve etc. These are obviously just every day objects they've had printed with their branding and cats.


Their brush/cat bowl etc seems to be THEIR OWN. It's got their branding on it. Whether they manufacture this, or just stick a logo on a generic one I don't know. The products look high quality..

They have an affiliate program.

A facebook, instagram and youtube. They actually make some youtube videos. Small channel with 300-600 views per video. Their instagram has 22.8k followers. Their facebook has 4.5k followers.

They are a real business and it's obviously quality. You can see this is not a blog created by a guy looking to MMO, who did some keyword research, hired a writer from a forum and tried to rank.

They have a media kit. They have patents & trademarks.

They have a careers page.

They have a shipping information page.

A refund policy.

Compare this with a typical "cat blog", that just has 100's of low quality AI generated articles or thin human written articles, a privacy policy/terms of service, and some google ads slapped all over the page.

It's not that hard to make some data points and train an AI to detect the higher quality businesses.

Google are in fact not trying to push out small businesses. They're trying to push out thin/useless sites made for search engines, not users.

This business is clearly made for people, not search engines..

Yes, we all want to make money, but you do have to start thinking about making a BUSINESS for people, not a site for search engines.

They will also not be super reliant on google. They'll get a lot of sales through instagram, maybe they run some ads, and they'll have a good email list + word of mouth.

I would say that "make money with SEO" is dead in 2024..

But "supplementing a good business with organic search" is alive and well.

You can still create just a purely informational blog with not much else and rank. And whether your content is AI or human makes ZERO difference. Google don't care, and they're not running detectors. I know, because I'm doing fairly deep research for my own model training, and as part of that research I look for sites under DR 30 that are ranking well, AI sites that are ranking well, and human sites that are ranking well.

What I can tell you about the under DR 30 sites, is almost all of the ones ranking well that I'm seeing have EEAT signals that are apparent to me as a human.

They just LOOK like real businesses.

If you want to rank a purely informational type site you need deep, informative, topically-tight content.

Ie, not a site with 10's of thousands of thin AI generated pages targeting questions, jumping from one topic to another.

But rather, an AI generated site that has longer, deeper, highly factual, dense articles that cover every aspect of every micro-niche within a niche. This still ranks and it ranks VERY well.

All in all do SEO when you have business you're excellent at. That's what I said.

Otherwise do churn and burn porn sites.

But if you're negative, you'll do nothing and cry a river reading our replies over and over again spending another year in a shithole.

In that case I would consult a psychologist as that'd be stagnant and can spiral down to bigger problems.

You always deliver. Posts like this one is the reason why I'm on BHW. And it's not even a post, it's a comment! And yet it deserves a thread treatment, if you ask me.

Unlike some other members who basically spam every day & keep sharing useless comments while they live here 24/7, this is actually useful. An analysis. A good read. Something thoughtful & worth of our time. If I could give a Super Like or more than one like, I would. Thank you, again!
 
People just seem to get angry that they can't just spin hundreds of crap articles and send a few backlinks at them and call it a day.

The bigger part of my clients' (agencies) sites have all been on a pretty steady incline. All have actually strong EEAT and all blogs are written by experts in the field.
100% organic backlinks.

Making money from traffic with ads as a sole purpose and of no actual added value to the user? Go all-in on red 16 :D
 
You better shift your perspectives to building online tools or even SAAS and doing SEO around the pages with AI. Everything does not have to be blog or content. Infact google approves online tools for adsense and reject content sites now adays. Think outside the box.

You can do it on social media but you'll need some technical knowledge.

The age of ranking content sites only is gone. Unless you are a professor.

That was my strategy all along. :-(

I'm here, trying to get SEO noobs with no money to buy my backlinks. I want 100's of them, paying me a few $ and bombarding me with messages and emails.

It's my hope, that by telling people to create more EEAT, real social and a real business that they will think "Oh, so that means, I should just go and buy some backlinks and I will rank, omg, take my $5"

It couldn't be that I'm just trying to give people a beacon of hope and some guidance to how they could succeed in 2024 with an online business.. No, not that.

It's amazing how a typical SEO artist manipulates. Every word they tell is pure lie. How can someone lie so perfectly. born psychopaths. How can it stick together so well throughout post history? It's insane. Art of manipulation perfect.

I have observed this a lot. In fact, many people who are somewhat search savvy add "reddit" at the end of their search query to filter search results so that they get shown search results specifically from reddit only. With time, things might get worse. Let's see what the future has in store for us. Regardless, your perspective is always interesting to read.
