Any website to register UK domain names ?

.co.uk is available internationally so no worries there.
Also, most reputable registrars who do .com also do .co.uk so just go to your favourite one (my suggestion would be namecheap) and you should be good.
Note, though, that for .co.uk the minimum registration period is 2 years, not 1, and it's slightly more expensive than .com/.net/.org.
EDIT: oh, and just in case anybody's wondering - it's not possible to register a domain name directly under .uk (such as yourdomain.uk), you must use a second level domain, such as yourdomain.co.uk (available freely), yourdomain.ltd.uk (only companies - rarely used though), org.uk (available freely), etc.

I just checked now with GoDaddy, there is only 2 years to register a domain and it is for 19.95. the reason why i asked about co.uk because i saw a lot available domains that you can rank in UK if you are using UK hosting.

I'm 99.9% sure you can't have whois privacy on a .co.uk or any other country specific TLD for that matter (.us for example).
I tend to avoid .co.uk domains, mainly because nominet are a bitch :fuckyou:

Ah - basically a very long time ago (5 years or so) when I first discovered the internets I bought some .co.uk domains from some guy on ebay (complete noob I was
)He transferred them to my account. Nominet require written confirmation of the transfer (I believe) so after this guy went AWOL I basically had control of the domains but no legal ownership. So since then, I have never bought a .co.uk
my mistake. you are correct on that, I believe. my info is showing anyway. I just assumed (whoops) that since all my other names @ namecheap had privacy the .co.uk's did as well. glad I haven't done anything too bad on those

I dont buy .co.uk anymore because they are a pain in the nuts to transfer to buyers. Also if you buy a .co.uk domain and you are intent on ranking in the UK search results it would be best to find a host that has UK servers which will then cost you even more money. If you dont and use hostgator most of your traffic will be from the US anyway. Then when it comes to selling a .co.uk website they are harder to shift. IMHO just stick with a .com less headache.

Not quite right... The UK has very strict data protection laws (doesnt apply to companies). Therefore, if you register a domain as a private individual most of the information is automatically hidden. The one main thing that isnt is the registrant's name.
Yes 2 year registration on .co.uk/.org.uk/.me.uk, however, I have found them to be cheaper than .com's.
They are more expensive with US/International registrars, but look for UK ones and its a lot cheaper!
