ITT: Feeling Generous. Answering CB Questions

Gonzo, this stuff is great. I do have a question about niches. If I wanted to launch my own product, would I be better off (generally speaking) targeting a niche where there is very little Clickbank competition or would I be better off targeting a more competitive topic but with a much larger audience?

For example, I could launch an ebook about lawn darts (low competition, smaller audience) or I could launch a product about making money online (lots of competition, larger audience). What would your thoughts be on that?

can u like give us some good sites for media buying and can i have a single page landing page with adwords

I just joined ClickBank, and I believe I read on their site that they now do the cloaking for you. Do you still recommend a third party cloaker like Ninja? Thanks.

Hey Gonzo (or should I say Hayden?),

Great thread you've got here, I was interested in hearing about your dealings with refunds if you don't mind sharing (average refund rates, refund exploiters etc...).

Thanks

Sorry, man. I'm not nice enough to give examples of my landing pages to a bunch of black hats. :) But I did put up some good examples in this post.

For one of my lists that I'm just starting, I'll usually set the autoresponder to look something like this:

Immediately after opt-in: "Welcome" email + freebie download
Day 2: Friendly "hello" with a teaser link back to my blog in that niche and a mention of whatever i'm promoting (with link)
Day 3: Another teaser link back to another article on the blog. Higher pressure on the sale "See if they're all sold out here (link)" or something like that.
Day 5+: Continue the cycle about every other day or every 3 days.

All the posts on the blog will have a call to action at the end of the post. A link saying something like "Get the real secrets I can't share here at (link)" or something like that.

After reading lots on here and going through many courses this is my first campaign where I'll build a list and promote to it however Im slightly confused with regards to my sales funnel.

My plan was to send traffic to the squeeze page, after optin I was going to send them a 5 part 5 day ecourse and on the last day hard sell them.

In the post you replied to above you mentioned sending them to your blog thats what I wanted to do but I was not sure how to incorporate the blog into the sales funnel.

Would you not recommend an ecourse or tips and is it better to just sell to them in every email, I was under the impression I needed to build a reltionship can you eleborate more on this.

Thanks

Right now, it is your standard 5 or 6 page software site, and am wondering if I would have more success with the 'Sales Copy' type of site, you know, with the one-page, scroll down and read a success story, read testimonials, etc.

I can't answer that for you. No one can. That's why I stress split-testing out the wazoo. Try split-testing your current version vs. long-copy sales page vs. short copy sales page. Be sure you send enough traffic to each to get a good reading (at least ~1000 visitors, if not more) and track everything. Then split test again. And again... I can't stress enough how finicky traffic may be. One method that works extremely well for one product will suck at another and vice versa. This is why I split test everything ad nauseum before I even start approaching affiliates.

I also am deciding whether to ditch the trial version. I am afraid people download, try, then lose interest, whereas a compelling sales page might push the sale, then if they dont like it, just return with the 60 day guarantee. My product isn't crap, it's actually pretty cool, it is a photo software, but there is a rather high competition for products like mine (photoshop plugins, etc.) People that like my software are beginner photographers who haven't the skill, time, or patience for photoshop. Any thoughts?

Again, try it both ways. Try it several ways. In my experience, trials work well. Especially when you follow up with the people that downloaded trials with some emails that give them tips, tricks, etc. that will enable them to get more use out of the software. This also helps continue to build the relationship with them so that you can sell them more stuff in the future and cut down on the loss of interest and/or refund rates right now.

Go for the gusto and go for the bigger markets. As a beginner, the last thing you want to try to do is re-invent the wheel. Bigger markets means product longevity and a larger target audience of affiliates. Not to mention that the target demographics in ANY niche will often buy not just one, but several products in that area. Golfers will buy more than one kind of golf ball to see which is best, fat women will buy more than one kind of diet guide/diet pill to see which works best. However, there aren't that many lawn dart enthusiasts (are there any?) so you'd have a much harder time selling copies of your product if there are already several on the market. Make sense?

Sorry, man. I'm keeping the discussion on Clickbank. There are tons of other threads on this forum for that discussion.

Refunds are the nature of the beast. One thing that I found that cuts down on refunds dramatically is simply keeping in touch with your buyers after the sale. I send out emails to them once a week or so that will direct them back to a blog or just provide more info. I also send out "bonuses" to them once every couple of weeks for at least the full refund period - and I let them know that they're coming. That's typically enough to keep the vast majority of people from refunding right away. It also helps keep the relationship with the buyers alive so you can sell to them down the road as well. Keep the relationship going. It's so much easier to sell to a previous customer than it is to a new customer. The bonuses I offer can be anything relevant to the niche. Sometimes I will write up a quick report that kind of off-shoots from the niche and gets bridges into my next product as well.

For instance, let's use Sammy12s product for an example. I sold them my photo software and they're happy as a clam. When they buy, they have to opt-in to a buyer's list to get to the download page so now they're in my autoresponder. They get a message immediately that thanks them for their purchase and also tells them that they really need to watch their mail over the next few weeks because I'll be sending them exclusive bonuses, tips, tricks, and advice that they won't get anywhere else. I've even gone so far as to call them "Platinum VIP Members" or something like that.

Then, a couple of days later (or maybe even the next day) I'll send an email with the first tip. Something small, but will definitely give them a "Oh, that's cool!" moment when playing with the software. Do this twice a week or so.

After about a week, send them an unannounced bonus. Now, here's where I say to create a bridge. Let's say that you just sold them photo software and your next product is video editing software. Now you're going to send them bonuses that tell them how to do some stuff using their current photo software to make videos (slideshows, etc) but also drop in the notice that you're coming out with video software that will automate the process very soon and as a "platinum vip member" or whatever, they're going to get the first crack of buying it...maybe even with a discount.

Keep this up over the next few weeks. They're getting value, you're keeping your previous customers warm for the next sale and drastically cutting back on your refunds. Win-win.

CB sucks if your not a US citizen. with there freaking paper checks, welcome in 2010, jeeeezzz

I'm sorry. You seem butthurt and decided to come into this thread to complain about something that no one here can do anything to help. Please feel free to go complain somewhere else. Thanks.

I believe they do too. I track my conversions and my data proves they shave big time. Its a shame. But if you're still banking profitably after all that why not put up with it?

What I meant by sending them to my blog is that after they opt in to my list and confirm (if I'm using double opt-in) they typically get redirected back to the blog. Also, typically whenever I update the blog with a new post, I'll send a notice out to my list. This helps keep them engaged.

An ecourse is fine, but why wait until its over to sell to them? In each part of the ecourse, be sure to mention the product and how it can help make what you're teaching in the ecourse easier/faster/more productive/etc. Always tell them how your product can make reaching their goals in that niche easier. Don't wait until after the last course module is sent because that limits your chances of selling to just once. Do it with every installment.

Like I said before, I've heard such stories but I honestly haven't seen it on my side either as a vendor or an affiliate. I'm certainly not saying its not happening or sticking up for CB in any way, I'm just saying that it doesn't seem like it's happening to me *knock on wood*.

That being said, I've heard that if you're an affiliate and your sales drop dramatically, if you make a new account (perfectly acceptable in CB's eyes) and start promoting with that, it alleviates the problem. Again, I haven't had to do this so I can't vouch for it. Just parroting what I've heard.

I was just saying, now you can stop crying and show everyone how generous you are.

Thanks

I will. Oh, and what have you contributed in your 6 posts? Oh, that's right: nothing. I'll thank you kindly to GTFO of my thread unless you're contributing. Go whine about waiting for paper checks while the rest of us make money.

You're dismissed.

Gonzo, Thanks brah for all the courteous messages and replies you have given this community about ClickBank. May you strive above and beyond sir.

Still crying now? how sad, but here is a pat on your back (tap tap tap) i just feel generous today lol, now i will leave your "generous" thread an leave you to it.

Bye bye

:261: What has been gained from you arguing with me in this thread? Nothing. Stop fucking trolling.

It's always guys like you that troll incessantly, using all your time and effort to babble on about nothing on forums and then make threads like "Need $500 by next week, help me pllzzzz!" and wonder why nobody wants to help you.

You keep saying "generous" like its a bad thing. So the fuck what if I felt like answering others' questions about Clickbank? If there was no interest, then the thread would have just died.

Like I said, what have you contributed since you've been here? Nothing. You're just a troll that cries about the fact that Clickbank pays by check instead of by direct deposit to your country. And I bet you never even considered the fact that if you spent a little less time crying and trolling and a little more time working the fact you'd have to wait a few extra days for a check wouldn't make a fucking difference because you'd still have money left over from the previous month.

So what have we learned:

1) You're lazy.
2) You're broke.
3) You're a fucking useless troll.

So for the last time, GTFO of my thread unless you plan on contributing, which is highly unlikely because if you knew shit, you'd spend your time doing it instead of picking fights with me.

You're dismissed, bitch.

Yeah i am broke and lazy, you're so right, you know me so well.....

You attacked me first "bitch", i was just saying about the checks because a lot a people here are not US, so get of your high horse and calm the fuck down, this is a public board, this is a public thread (not yours you do not pay the bills of BHW) and unless i post something that is against the forum rules i have as much right to post anywhere as you, you do not own this thread comprende?

And judging people by there postcounts tells me a lot about you, now i will leave you alone before i get banned because you started crying to the mods.

Have a good one.

Greets

Poor Lazy Harry. :sadwavey:

Peace, poor, lazy, broke Harry.

Gonzo,

What are the chances of using just straight "Article Marketing" that goes through a redirect to the sales page getting sales?

Find A Product
Make a 0.99 .info
Use it as a redirect to the product's sales page
Ezine, Ehow, Unique Article Wizard, etc

I'm guessing, The little amount of work involved isn't gonna prove to good :(

Can you tell me how to type in red big letters in word press(do I need to code for that?)
Also how do you design testimonial and other content boxes like this
6h2vec.jpg

Also see in this site
Code:
http://www.wordpressunleashedonline.com/
how did he made this box?

Here he made the contents inside a box with an outline.I want to learn how to make it like that.
Thanks

Not a good method for several reasons:

1) No matter what all "the gurus" say, article marketing is NOT a good source of traffic to rely on. There are always exceptions where people say "Oh, I get 10,000 visits per month from an article" but these instances are few and far between. I use it for backlinks and chalk up whatever traffic I get as a bonus. I want MY SITE to be found in the SERPs at the #1 position, not EzineArticles. But that's just me.

2) You're not collecting any opt-ins. Any traffic that doesn't immediately buy is gone forever. It's your traffic, capitalize on it for as long as possible by getting the opt-in. You never know, just because they didn't buy that one product you initially sent them to doesn't mean they won't buy another.

3) You're not pre-selling. I dunno about you, but I'm very weary of basing my entire business and income on the conversion rates of others' sales pages. I like to be in control as much as possible. That means that by the time I send someone to a sales page, they've already read my opinion on why they should buy it and how I think it will benefit them the most. This puts them into a "do want" frame of mind even before they hit the sales page, which then can do its job of closing the sale.
