For Google, I can understand because different companies (Huawei, Xiaomi, Samsung) have their own devices and pre-install their own stores. But for Apple?

I would never install a third party app store on my iphone. One of the reasons why I like iphones so much is because of how strict apple is when approving apps (seen this first hand for a client).

But hey.. Competition is good.

As someone from the side, that has nothing to so with Europe and the US it looks like they just keep finding stupid reasons to try to weaken american companies' hold in the EU in hope that at some point a european company will fill that gap, and they never do.

Besides the fact that Apple used USB-C for the iPad Pro (2018) in October 2018 already, years before the EU decision of 2022...

I really like the Lightning connector, because it's very easy to wipe over if there is any dust or dirt sticking to the connectors. That's not possible with the USB-C connectors.

Sorry for the belated reply, I was very busy since March 2024.

In general you can't "decompile" an iOS app, because Swift or Objective C don't generate simple p-code (like Java does).

But you can reverse engineer them by inspecting the network traffic, using special disassemblers and other tools to get a deeper insight.
