Let's put it this way. You have a family, 2 kids and a wife... You are in a very bad financial situation and need to pay back some money. What will you do?

1- Do something illegal that will help you out a lot - pay back everything and have more money left over, but also a 80% chance of going to jail.
2- Doing your everyday job, living paycheck to paycheck and struggling to make ends meet.

You are not working hard enough if you have time to ponder such ridiculous things with your friends. Everybody only gets by on just enough. Everyone wants more. Live within your means and expand those means. Takes years, but its' worth it.

Why not? I have over a dozen local friends, can borrow 5% from each, pay the outstanding and then pay back each friend in sequence. What else the friends are for? Helping in tough situations.
