You have a point there, and I thought about it too but my whole strategy is also based on things that I've seen. I've seen a lot of channels with like 60 or 70 shorts with 20K subs or even 100K subs and they have 2 or 3 long-form videos that have been posted only recently with like 10K or 5K views. Even if what you mentioned is true I'm 100% sure that if you do it right and the videos have high quality even the short video audience will watch your videos after all shorts are only 1 or 2 years old and this audience has been watching long-form videos for years. The worst-case scenario is that everything you mentioned will happen to me so none of these subs will watch my videos and even in that case I have something to gain which is social proof for the channel so if I publish a good long-form video and someone likes it there is a higher chance that they will subscribe to a channel with 10K subs than to a channel with 10 subs. But thank you bro for pointing this out!

Thank you! I'm also interested in TikTok but since the creator funds program is not available in Canada, I still don't see why I would do TikTok. I know it is a good source of traffic and I can send it to a lot of things but what I want is the money to be linked to only one site and one metric like YouTube views = money. I hate it when the chain is long (views + click the link + signup + buy something = money).
As you mentioned I heard that story of consistency and I need to publish a lot to get noticed by YouTube so what I will do is stick to 1 video a day at least I'm going to do most of the videos during the weekends and see how it goes 1 month from now if there is progress and double that to like 2 videos per week.

Good luck OP. Don't get discouraged if you aren't getting enough views, the channel will go up if you keep posting regularly, that's youtube #1 rule.
YouTube shorts won't make you a lot as the RPM is low ( 5-7 cents last time I checked ).
A good strategy would be to create long-form videos and promote them using shorts

I can't be discouraged easily bro haha and yes the idea is to grow an audience using shorts then point them to my long videos later !

Shorts are just a bridge to build an audience, so people are using shorts traffic to get someone to sign up for a stupid CPA offer and YouTube is allowing that and people are making money, but it is hard to send traffic to the same channel but to long-form videos? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Thank you, no it is not and 1K was just a goal that looked a bit hard to achieve when I started this journey but I don't thing it is anymore haha
