The blackhat method in the book is an old but not widely known technique. It was discussed in bhw forums a while ago, it possibly got moved to the VIP sections (not sure), but it's still effective till today and not many doing it.
My advice: don't use this blackhat method on a YouTube account you're growing personally. It's risky because competitors could report you. But for a short-term strategy or churn and burn, it can be extremely effective!
While I can't reveal details of the blackhat method, I appreciate MrStepan's work. Had I not known this method already, the ebook would have been well worth its price. Wishing MrStepan success in his future sales!
