First Attempt Youtube Cashcow (No Experience)

Good luck brother. Following your journey. I'm also thinking about starting a YT channel.

Good luck on your journey, if you intend to stay monetized don't clip your long-form video into shorts. You'll get demonetized.

After 18 Days OP decided to Give up and never updated us on why he/she gave up on his journey

Hey everyone, wow im shocked. The amount of support and replies. Thank you all!

Ive been off BHW as I have main ventures I take care of monthly, this youtube cashcow has been a huge learning experience and I am able to understand almost everything about the algo, what triggers, what content favors, etc. If their are interests in this Journey, ill continue it up, and provide daily updates with a few lessons and daily views.

This is just me being inconsistent with it, few videos every month or 2. When I started this journey, had alot of free time, now im back to some free time so ill put my interest back into this.

Thank you for holding me accountable & keeping up with this journey, will update tomorrow!

God bless you all,

Hey everyone,
Day 1 again on this Journey & what I have learned so far. (please add in anything you see missing) (Im going to chatgpt my words, so can explain it in details but im laying out the main message just fixing grammar and faster with chatgpt)

1. In order to have a good youtube channel, the most important part is content,
YouTube uses algorithms to assess video quality and various other factors to provide a better user experience. These algorithms are designed to:

Video Resolution: YouTube's algorithms can detect the resolution of a video, such as 720p, 1080p, or 4K, and adjust the video quality based on the viewer's internet connection and device capabilities. They also encourage creators to upload videos in higher resolutions for better quality.

Bitrate and Compression: YouTube automatically encodes videos to different bitrates and compression levels to ensure smooth playback while maintaining reasonable quality. The algorithms optimize this process to minimize buffering and maximize quality.

Stabilization and Enhancement: YouTube can stabilize shaky videos and enhance the quality by reducing noise and adjusting brightness and contrast, among other things.

Content ID and Copyright Detection: YouTube uses algorithms to identify and manage copyrighted material in videos to protect the rights of content creators and copyright holders.

Recommendation Algorithms: YouTube's recommendation system uses complex algorithms to suggest videos to users based on their viewing history and preferences. Video quality may play a role in these recommendations, as YouTube aims to promote high-quality content.

Flagging and Removal of Low-Quality Content: YouTube also uses algorithms to identify and remove low-quality or spammy content, such as videos with poor video and audio quality or those that violate community guidelines.

Monetization and Ads: YouTube's algorithms assess the suitability of content for monetization and ad placement. Higher-quality videos may be more attractive to advertisers.

User Engagement: YouTube tracks user engagement metrics, such as watch time, likes, comments, and shares, to assess the quality and relevance of videos. Videos with higher user engagement are more likely to be promoted.

Now ill use my words without chatgpt, when you are making content and trying to monetize, you really have to know the difference between good quality content and bad quality content, if your just making ai videos, im not sure how far it could go, because you probably dont have the skill to edit the videos yourself (capcut is easy for beginners, it worked for me and i had no idea how to edit anything before this program) so back to the quality, you channel has to be consistent and filled with good quality, basically you have to have OCD making a successful youtube channel, every single little detail from sound of the video, to the quality resolution, you also have to be thoughtful about your content for user engagement, the less people skip your videos and longer they stay on to watch it, the higher it will rank visibility. So considering peoples attention is low, crop the video enough to show everything and cutting the long parts out that are just taking up time, the goal of your videos is that the user has to be glued to your content watching , liking , subbing, commenting, so your content has to be throughout.

I am focusing comedy YouTube channel, so I think of funny ideas in a niche and people react to it. But I actually consider each video, so if I laugh, its enough for me to post. and its not easy to make me laugh, so I have to be a fan of my own content. Sometimes ill go hours through content and nothing I will find funny and just skip the day, so I have a different approach of this channel, its more doing everything the right way, without Ai, and once I know how everything works ill leverage Ai, doesnt make sense for me to use Ai if I dont know how it works manually and trying to make it automatic. Just voice over I use thats it, and that I set the volume minimum and make sure it blends in with the sound of the video so its not too loud and not too low.

Your video has to please the user, so thats for content topic.

2. The health of your YouTube channel,
No chatgpt words:
Everything in your channel has to be consistent in order for YouTube to favor you, I mean literally. If you have 100 videos, you better put 100% effort into each video, just having 98 good quality videos and 2 bad ones can affect your channel. To search this theory, go find your favorite youtuber, and see if he has 1 bad quality video they have still up, even any old videos. (and dont go look at mr beast)
What triggers I seen was that, everytime I would get the lowest views count on my videos, I would go back to that video and 100% of the time I would agree its the lack of effort because I did fly by this specific content quick, im even amazed YouTube knows, thats how advanced they are. So I would delete all the bad views videos which are low quality less effort videos and for some reason everytime after that my other video would start getting double the views, so forsure being consistent and focusing on quality matters.

3. Tags
Tags use to your advantage, basically think you are the user, and you want to watch your video. What would you search up,
For Example:
If you have a video of a komodo dragon eating a rabbit,
think of the quick user looking for videos like yours, that would search:
"komodo dragon eats rabit"
"komodo dragon rabit'
"komodo dragon rabit hunt"
"etc etc"
You would think of all the ways someone can search up in a quick way that your video would pop up.

4. Playlists, Descriptions, caption
- Youtube lays all the features out for us because they want us to use everything and have a healthy channel,
so one way of doing that is filling up a playlist with your videos, and categorizing videos, (I cant explain the algo part of this, I just know its best to organize content and name it related to your target audience)

- Descriptions: I see alot of people make mistakes and go put 1000 hashtags on their videos, thats actually a negative thing for Youtube and most likely your videos will not monetize or rank, its healthy to have 3-4 main hashtags you want to target in your description and optionally 1-2 on your caption.

- Your Caption of your video is key, consider it the sales person of your video, this caption is at the front door of your video. They read your sign (Your caption) and decide if they want to come in or not, so if they decide if they want to watch your video or not. Your caption has to be eye grabbing, short, fully displays the msg of this video.

5. Related Videos: Dont skip this part, its going to chain hook all your videos/shorts together because if a user clicks from one of your videos to another, Youtube will see users are coming back to your channel and watching your other clips, which is a good sign your content is good, which means good for ads / platform to use your content to keep user in the loop of consuming content on their platform which attracts ads people.

All I can think of, forsure more to come, will update if anything else.

I released a short today, (not the 1948 views latest one, theres one on top of it posted today not screenshotted, will update tomorrow on todays short & see what happens.

Regards,

Question for anyone: Is shorts channel a money maker or not? I heard many mixed feelings about the income of youtube shorts channel.

Also remember for this screenshot, I deleted many shorts that were bad views, so this is how it looks like overall after deleting many clips as well.

Good luck on your journey, if you intend to stay monetized don't clip your long-form video into shorts. You'll get demonetized.

Just to put out there, came to mind:

I am open to JVs, if anyone is good at making content and I work on the youtube logic part. Fair 50/50 and open to many of them. If its anyone's interest in starting YT from scratch together. I would basically layout the entire content plan, and you would make the content and ill worry about ranking the videos, optimizing them and working on the algo part of it to attract visibility organically. The channel would have to make sense for both of us to agree on.

Wrong inshot is android, Google it, anyways on pc you'll want power director 21/23
Wow thanks!! power director looks really promising. is powerdirector 365 essential good as free option?

No it's shit avoid, I mean it does have colour grading and other odd features.
Happy to connect with you, thank you for the tips. The only reason im using capcut because its free, I wanted to invest more into tools once I took this more seriously. I will follow your advice for the 21/23 in the future, if theres a free option better than capcut im open to anything. Thanks for your attention and tips!
