What's The Right Link Velocity Technique?

How do you make sure the links you're building is effective? What's the right link velocity?

For instance, Do you build 5 links to a specific page at a time or you drip-feed? Which one of these actually moves the needle?

I'm not so sure link velocity is a thing in the way people think it is.

To me, if a website suddenly gets loads of links it's probably doing something good not bad.

There are quite a few examples where an exploit has been used to build tons of strong links quickly and that website has shot up in the rankings.

I think it's reasonable to think there might be some sort of inspection that is triggered when a large number of links are created to a new/small site but if you are building HQ links that shouldn't be an issue.

Just my opinion, I may be completely wrong.
