Cloudflare Alternative? For DDoS mitigation?

I've been dealing with persistent DDoS attacks on my website.

Unfortunately, I can't use Cloudflare due to copyrighted material on the site.

Can anyone recommend an alternative to Cloudflare that can effectively mitigate DDoS attacks? The website is built on WordPress.

As far as I know that it's better not to use them if your hosting copyrighted materials, as they can leak your info, or even ban your account.
Also I've read similar story here.

Bunny CDN is the best as alternative for cloudflare, Also you can try other like Google Cloud Armor, Azure DDoS Protection, Radware DefensePro.

i suffered from some competitor ddosing me a lot couple years ago.
maybe my attacker was just a novice, but i was also banned on cloudflare and mitigated it myself.
i lost my personal documentation how to do it, otherwise i would spoon feed you. but it was all managed by fail2ban service on my vps.
there was a command to see most common hits by IP. there was always 1-2 IP addresses that hit me 1000x+ harder than everyone else.
those were added to the blackhole (fail2ban term), and then the ddos was ceased.
if you google mitigate ddos fail2ban, you can see some blog posts on helping you set it up.
you need a vps with root access, so if you're on a shared hosting package you cannot proceed here.

3rd party services can help you mitigate the attacks, but you need a powerful server to mitigate the DDoS attack along with a good firewall.
even if you use such third-party services you will still feel a very sluggish site response, because when an attack happens your server resources goes very high.

I must ask you guys, are there cdn providers;

a) who I can use my root domain (without www) ?
b) where I can keep my paid ssl (not use the free ssl from the cdn) ?
c) where I can keep my dedicated ip (who not masks my ip a) ?

I don't know if that is possible. See, I not like it to paying for services like dedicated ip and paid ssl, then a cdn provider will override it. This not makes any sense for me, this would make any services who you are paying for a useless product- do you not agree?

What is with azure cdn ? I think they will not mask your dedicated ip, override your paid ssl and you can use your root domain?

What are the monthly cost of azure cdn in standard tier ? $5/ month, $10, $15 or more ?
Gcore cdn supports custom ssl but you must create a subdomain (?)....

Other DDoS mitigation services that can be used as an alternative to Cloudflare include Akamai, Arbor Networks, Incapsula, and Zeus.

We wish good luck for those who will use Akamai for DDoS Protection, when you see the billing you will be afraid. Not cheap.

DDoS-Guard looks the best alternative, but is not free.
You can use Nginx rules like Rate Limiting and many things to prevent high load.

Also there are some providers out there offering remote reverse proxy protection this means DDoS Protected Reverse Proxy with will replace your current IP with DDoS Protected IP.

Nginx with some rules can help you to block some type of attacks.
The best thing to do is going to Hosting that offers good ddos protection.

CloudFlare can't help you stay online if your hosting provider doesn't have a good ddos protection against Layer 3 and Layer 4 attacks which is more common.

Cloudflare yes has an Business plan ($20/ month) which where you can setup your custom ssl cert.

But which webhosting provider not has DDOS protection?
When you buy a server or vps, then you are at own risk and must setup DDOS protection yourself which is not cheap. Can not say if cloudflare alone gives your website full edge DDOS protection?

And please not slap me in the face when my question sounds weired;

When millions of people have the same free ssl cert from CF, does this online property looks "unique" to you?
I know I ask it again; big sites, big media sites have cdn yes, but not hiding their dedicated ip and they not use free let's encrypt assl or CF ssl- I ask myself- WHY? Why do you think "they" doing this? Because it has no serp or seo benefit, so "they" are dumb like bread?

For me a online property who has dedicated ip and own paid DV ssl - this looks more unique to me, when this makes sense....
