Google AdSense, a platform that helps website publishers earn money through digital advertising, is making two significant changes. First, they are updating the revenue-sharing structure. In the past, publishers received 68% of the revenue when using AdSense. Now, this revenue share will be split into buy-side and sell-side rates, with publishers receiving 80% of the revenue after the advertiser platform's fee is deducted. Google Ads retains about 15% when purchasing display ads on AdSense. When third-party platforms are used, publishers keep 80% after the third-party's fee is deducted.
Second, AdSense is shifting from paying publishers per click to paying per impression, aligning with the industry standard. This change aims to provide a consistent way for publishers to compare earnings across various technologies they use for monetization.
These updates do not affect the types or quantity of ads that publishers can display on their websites. They will go into effect in the near future and do not require any action from publishers. Google's goal is to continue supporting publishers and contributing to the open web while simplifying and enhancing transparency in the advertising process.

According to my predictions, the number of clicks will be hidden from the user, it will still count the clicks, but it will make the calculations in the background and show the earnings as impressions.
