So, I have been down this rabbithole for weeks now, and either everybody is doing the wrong thing or I am an idiot.

The solution that I keep seeing:
Go to advanced wifi settings > add proxy or whatever > manual > then add ip and port
Why is this wrong you may ask? well because its a global setting, its basically telling apps "can you pretty pleaseeeeeee use this proxy server instead???" No app has to respect the request, and according to the countless hours of research ive put in, TikTok does not care about that setting.

So anyways here are some solutions that I tried:
Running netch (v2ray or wintun) in a windows machine with a socks 4g proxy then sharing the connection through the mobile hotspot.
To be honest, I don't know if it actually works, but it does appear to work. And going to whatismyip sites does point out that my IP has infact changed. But isn't very scalable and kind of slow, also i am not sure if it fully works systemwide.

Another solution that I am considering is having a router that is connected to a 4g proxy and then sharing that connection to the clients.
Don't actually know if thats even possible.

So here is the solution that I know for a fact works. VPNs.
BUT, VPNs are apparently bad for tiktok? I have no idea at this point since everyone seems to be an expert yet contradicting each other.

So how the fu** am i supposed to use a proxy in an android phone?

Plus my phone isnt rooted (to avoid detection), so I can't use proxydroid.
Also to be clear, I am trying to find a systemwide solution, not just the app, since I really don't want to take any chances.

I dont know about proxy but i can tell you that i have been using vpn with TikTok for more than 1 year now with no problems

Does it matter which VPN to use?
Should I go with paid or free?
Free could be good since everyone already uses it.

I dont know about free vpn because i always used a paid one

Use "socksdroid", no root needed, make sure your proxy port is socks5 and not https

Are you this routes all traffic systemwide? could TikTok detect an app like this?

I didn't try for TikTok, As I know tiktok rely on more things not only your IP and location, like Sim network, cookies and other data.
Anyway, if you use an fresh android phone without sim card, while using a "Mobile proxy", it will be fine.

Mhm, I have everything setup correctly including SIMs and new devices, just couldn't figure out how to connect the phones to a mobile proxy in a scalable way.
The app you have mentioned might actually work perfectly, it is straight up a VPN that connects to a SOCKS5 somehow. Will try it out, thank you so much.

Hey, no no, seriously no need.
I think I will try the SocksDroid option first.
Thank you anyway :D
I sent it to you anyway if you ever want to try it with vpn
