i want to build a new blogging website in which i will share my affiliate links , i'm also an experienced web developer and the question is do i code my own unique blog website (following all the seo rules) or use a wordpress theme or even easier using platforms like medium ?

Nothing wrong with coding your own site, it might even be better that way but it will be a lot more work and time to do it. Personally I like using Wordpress themes because it saves so much time and they still look great.

There are tons of themes available in the market. You can easily use it or customize them.

Spend 2 minutes installing a site that passes CWV or spend 4 weeks designing your own and tailoring it to meet CWV .... for absolutely no reason.
Choice is yours.

I've tried it, it's a noble goal. Security was the biggest factor i stopped. you should try and stay laser-focused on your end goal and getting there as quickly as possible. If you don't want to use wordpress there are some really amazing flat CMS's out there that are very lightweight and 10x faster. Most of them are limited just enough to tickle your web dev pickle.

You can use a WordPress theme. Generatepress is a good theme.

Since i'm web dev too and know your feeling i assume that you are looking for confirmation that coding own site better idea

I had the same question for my blog. Check the Astro framework - IMHO it's perfect for small sites and blogs which focused on content.
You either may use for example Contentfull for managing posts, or write your own API if you are planing to generate content automatically

I personally built "shared" backend + Astro for each site

You can always build something unique but to start with I would suggest using affiliate themes on WordPress.

If you have the skills and resources to code it, you can code your own website and if you want some control and customization over your website, you can try wordpress. Otherwise if you want to have the easiest and fastest way to start blogging, and you don't care about ownership and control, you can try in medium.

Have a look at GeneratePress (shared for free here on BHW by @RoiBox) which can be customized to make a unique blog websites and use any SEO adjustments you need.
