Noticed that a few years ago medium decided to put the no index tag on newly published articles.

But recently I have been seeing new medium articles pop up in SERP.

If you have experience using medium for blogging. What can you do to ensure your article is rankable and not affected by the no index tag?

Curious to know too, anybody who is doing medium parasite may know the answer.
I also stopped posting for this reason but recently I posted a few other articles in a new account and surprisingly there was no "noindex" tag. I think they removed it?

And yes, medium still ranks well on google but not as fast like it used to.
there is the answer?

how to see if the article is noindex ?
usually there's something like this in the source code of the page (CTRL + U on most browsers if you wish to see the source code):
Code:
<meta name="robots" content="noindex">

But I checked several posts on Medium.com and I'm not seeing this code. I only see one "noindex" tag thrown somewhere in the middle of the page, but I'm not sure if it's the same thing or not... Maybe someone knowledgeable can clue us both in :)

Yes medium articles rank quite well!

Yes, Medium articles can still rank on Google. While Medium initially used a "no index" tag, some recent articles are appearing in search results. To ensure ranking, focus on quality content, relevant keywords, and backlinks.

To improve Medium article SEO, focus on keyword research, quality content, and promoting your articles externally through social media and backlinks.

In addition to content quality, relevance, user experience, and search engine optimization (SEO), a medium site can rank well on Google.

yes as of my last knowledge update in september 2021, medium articles could still rank on google search but search engine rankings can change over time

It's because they were flooded with spam and bad content, so they had to change their strategy. New accounts wont get their stories indexed, and you have to earn their trust so your stories would be eligible to be indexed.

It ranks really well, but content has to be high quality and not spammy or overly about promoting something. They also recommend you to interact with their community in order to gain trust, get some following, interactions and engagement.

I started writing there just a short while before they made the changes so I don't have a good sense of how it was before, but all my stuff seems to index pretty promptly.

Edit: I make a point of spending time reading other people stuff and interacting with it too. Which is no great chore, because there really is some pretty good stuff to read on medium in between the junk.
