Getting So many Bcklinks from No-where

I'm getting so many backlinks from .html, what shoul i do.. also i can see difference in ranking - some of the keywords i was ranking 1 have dropped to 4-5.. don't know why...

One way is to disavow them but I don't know if it will guarantee your rankings back.

ok i have done disavow of somewhat 242 links now

almost all of them are showing as do follow links, and pointing to images .jpg urls.... also when i opened links i cant see any links/images there.

Don't worry about them. Most ranking websites will have them. They're just part of the junk that sites with any search presence pick up over time.

If it's a drop in the last 5 days, then google update is the reason

You can disavow the links of course if you like, but seeing as we've had a couple of recent Google updates I'd say that these links are probably not the culprit of any rank deflation.

no.. im getting these links largely from july and ofcourse there had been drop from august 1st... anyway i have disavow links i got from last 1 and half months, some of the links from july is showing as broken links... or not active

Have you seen any uptick in traffic due to these links? Probably no. And that means you have nothing to worry about. Most sites with a lot of articles in top 3 positions pick up spammy backlinks like these over time. They do not do anything for your rankings and Google simply ignores them.

You'll not be penalized for links that DIDN'T result in a traffic gain. Otherwise, it would be too easy for competitors to do negative SEO for your website.
