Ezinearticles and micro niches

Is using ezinearticles strictly for backlinks really enough to get you on page 1 with micro niche sites?
Wouldn't submittined different articles to different high pr article directories be better? I don't understand xfactors reasoning for this.

X Factor is not the end all on this. His stuff is good just not perfect. I spread my adticles around a little bit... I use ezine pretty hard but I also use goarticles and the various web 2.0 sites that are available.

If you read xfactors ebook properly you would see that he never said to only use ezinearticles but to keep it as the back bone on you promotion method.

What sort of content do you guys use for Ezine? Unique articles? If so are you outsourcing them or writing them yourselves?

At the moment I am posting only on high PR do follow blog comments and would like to spread the backlinking about.
