I have the same history as you but with Facebook ads. waste $3000 in ads and eaned only $200 in affiliate sales. so frustrating....
Why you didn't tried paid ads from other networks like instagram, Pinterest, push ads, twitter, native ads, reddit?

I'm lost many times for google ads. And with affiliates, i think Roi from Google ads better than another ads, customer find keywords mean they aready know about this brand and need it.

- Don't look at those affiliate sites they are highly contested. Maybe you can try and find real value services and products and contact companies directly.
- It is easier to stay motivated when a product or service is something you are passionate about.
- Crypto, forex, and casinos are probably another rabbit hole where they promise a lot and you are the one losing money.

1) Don't target broad match keyword.
2) Target exact match keyword on Google Ads. Thus you can minimize your spend and maximize your conversions.
3) Don't run ads with Google's suggestion rather get keywords from SEMRush or Ahrefs which you think profitable. Then target those profitable keywords with Exact match.
