Clickbank : Trying to Understand It

Why would anyone buy an ebook when there is free information all over the web about virtually any subject?

If someone wants to build a chicken coop, a simple Google search will turn up loads of free resources. Why would someone pay for an ebook on the subject? Is it the affiliate's job to convince the buyer that the ebook info is better than the free info that's available?

Mind you, this isn't a bash of ClickBank or ClickBank affiliates but I'm just trying to understand how you sell something to someone when lots of the same info is free all around him?

Well, some people rather not spend the time to look for things themselves. Like if I want a pizza, I could easily go to the store and buy all the ingrediants then come home and cook it. OR, I could just call up a pizza joint and have them deliver it to me.

Same thing with CB. If I had the money and wanted to get straight to an answer without having to shift through fluff or if I was just take lazy, I'll just buy a how-to book.

The other option is to actually HAVE info that can't be found else where on the internet.

Hard part is finding that niche.

90% of people want to be spoon fed and will not take the time to understand everything about it, they only want a small piece of the puzzle. I remember I needed to have a transmission rebuilt on my vw jetta I could have got it rebuilt and it would have cost me 1,800.

I purchased all the gears and a how to book and rented a garage with a transmission lift. It took me two days to pull,rebuild, mount. I learned a shitload of information about building things and myself. I'm always reading how to books or something from Make Magazine. Its just good to know how to build anything, it give you insight into yourself.

There is also a subconcious trigger that you are trying to work on. Many people subconciously feel that if you have to pay for it, then it must be more valuable.

"Sure there is lots of free information out there, but how good can it be. I'm gonna buy this ebook cause it will let me know the secrets that noone is giving away for free."

It isn't logical thinking, but that is what most marketing is about; going around logic and selling to emotions.

hello there , can you please tell me since you seems to be one of the expert with clickbank is it good to have a review site such as this guy offering where customer land on your review site and you give me all the pros and cons ( still pros type thing) or you this this is not a good way to start i really need your input and am really a good listener to everything you have been saying here in the forum and u trust your judgment. thanks a lot and will appreciate it if you could pm your response since i wont monitor this thread. Review sites are a great way to generate sales for these types of products.

I'd stay away from Clickbank though, they have major problems tracking sales and/or shave like crazy.

Go with somebody like:

http://www.paydotcom.com

They may not have as many products as Clickbank but you can trust them.

If you decide to promote Clickbank products, DO NOT spend a penny on traffic. I was promoting them via PPC and I lost quite a bit of money when they decided to stop tracking my sales all of a sudden
