Dispute: @RealDaddy vs @RocketFuel

I would not pay a guy more than $5/100w unless I love him like my brother, and he has been writing for me a couple of months. I don't care if he is the authentic John Mueller writing in my SEO blog.
What about hiring Hank Moody tho?

I am seeing the other side and If I were on the buyers place, I might do the same.
That article is not worth 150$. Every one knows it and no one wants to say considering the reputation of OP.

Some one lost 147$ worth VIP membership for taking a decision of hiring you as a writer.

Word count for that article is around 1050 and out of that 387 words are quotes.

The reason the buyer is banned isn't because they were wrong about the quality, but because they did not respond.

If they responded in this thread "that article is dog crap" they might have been let off the hook.

I agree with the buyer, the article is completely unusable. To try to charge $150 for such an article is, in my opinion, unethical.

But the buyer needed to respond here.

There is some merit to a discussion that OP should not be allowed to sell articles going forwards on this site without an approved sales thread.

Making deals through DM only leads to so many problems.

Anyway as I said $15/100w was condemned even before the first word was written. I would not pay a guy more than $5/100w unless I love him like my brother, and he has been writing for me a couple of months. I don't care if he is the authentic John Mueller writing in my SEO blog.

I absolutely get what you guys (@Listin Stefffan @SirLouen ) are saying but if I quote someone $150 and the buyer agrees, is that my mistake?

I know pricing is a subjective topic but maybe I do consider the price fair, and the amount of quotes in the content are there because that was needed, and believe me or not that topic was given to me by the buyer.

Maybe $150 is too much or too little for someone, but if both parties agree on this, and the buyer isn't even trying to resolve the issue, who's fault is that? My whole reason behind opening this dispute resolution was to actually get somewhere, I mean he could have said that he would only pay $40 for the article, and I would have taken it considering I was going to get nothing if he got banned (after refusing to pay any money).

I hope this clears things up.

The buyer contacted me first, after reading some of my ebooks. I couldn't find a reason to not do the work.

If they responded in this thread "that article is dog crap" they might have been let off the hook.
that's what I am saying, maybe it's absolute garbage, but you need to resolve the shit.
Also, please keep in mind that I did send him samples, and those have approx the same quality as well, and he agreed to pay the $150, who's fault is that?

Nope, it was 100% his mistake from minute 0. I'm not sure what he was thinking when he agreed with you.
The weird thing is as you say, he probably read your ebook and was impressed by your style, so he was expecting the same degree of quality
I have not read your ebooks for a good while but if he could demonstrate somehow that the quality exhibited on such ebooks is, by no means, the quality of this $150 post, then he could have had a chance of not paying you anything (I have not read the post or your books recently, so I cannot judge this BTW)
But he forfeited and goodbye.

Absolutely.

Yes, prove it and get the shit sorted. He could have absolutely done that but seems like he didn't valued his BHW account that much.

He said himself, that he wants the article now he has to pay, he agreed on the 150$ for the 1k word article, if he didn't like it he could have just said so instead of wasting time even if it was the shittiest article out there it takes time and you agreed to pay, for example if he said i will pay you if i like the article or if it's any good and then he doesn't pays since he doesn;t likes it then i think it's better. Always look what you're saying and don't feel uncomfortable to cut a deal to save both people time and money.

The weird thing is that the guy did not answer to the dispute; otherwise he could have said that it was not worth the money and that Daddy text wasn't up to his expectations under certain restrictions.

The reason the buyer is banned isn't because they were wrong about the quality, but because they did not respond.
I am assuming, he is smart enough to understand what is coming.
This is the issue with freelancing dispute resolutions. What IF responded ? Nothing is going to change ?
I dont want to quote, but there is another Dispute going between two persons, some one bought some kind of google script for content creation and after getting it, he opened a dispute. As per the rules, the seller is either going to loose his money or a ban hammer.

but if I quote someone $150 and the buyer agrees, is that my mistake?
If some one is paying 150$ for an article, his expectation levels will be higher. And you itself agreed that, there were lots of grammatical issues on the draft sent to him. If some one is working for 150$/ article, he will see the future and will definitely do his best to impress the buyer with the draft. I am assuming you did the same as well still you failed and thats the reason why he denied to pay it. And as i mentioned above, around 40% of the article contains quotes. Literally he is paying 25$/100 original content. I wont blame him.

My one cent - You still have time to solve the issue. May be you could consider giving him a second chance after asking mod. He did nothing wrong (my opinion).

It was the 1st draft for a reason, it was basically bullet points and some explanation, I needed his feedback on it so that I could expand on the sub-topics.

If some one is paying 150$ for an article, his expectation levels will be higher.
Come on, he already had read my ebooks and samples, and he knew what to expect.

the amount of quotes in the content are there because that was needed, and believe me or not that topic was given to me by the buyer.
If an article needs "quotes" why the hell would I not include those?

May be you could consider giving him a second chance after asking mod.

I messaged him 4 times, but he ignored me.
This thread is up for the last 5 days, he has been quoted 4 times as well, how much more poking around do you think one needs?

My one cent - You still have time to solve the issue.
My two cents - I tried my best.
Regards

he could have just said so instead of wasting time even if it was the shittiest article out there it takes time and you agreed to pay, for example if he said i will pay you if i like the article or if it's any good and then he doesn't pays since he doesn;t likes it then i think it's better.
His only requirement was that the article has to be "unique" (other than the quoted text).

That was the one and only mistake he did. He went behind OP's reputation and trusted his writing. And I dont understand if we are allowed to offer jobs if we wont have a sales thread. @BassTrackerBoats Can you please help me with this ? Can i bring my clients to bhw if that is allowed without sales thread?

And if @RocketFuel is seeing this, come back and re dispute to get your account back.
I just checked the rules of content writing and you could have won this easily.

Chapter 11: Rules For Content & Copywriting Services
  1. Content must be delivered to the advertised standards.
  2. 'Native English' content must be written by someone whose first language is English. Content written by non-Native speakers will be rejected.
  3. Rewrites will not be accepted; the review will be conducted based on what you deliver the first time.

You quoted the marketplace rules, and they don't apply for this type of deal because it fell under some sort of HAF.
An upgraded member is allowed to sell on the forum as long as he does not initiate the sale (a user must open a HAF or WTB thread, respond to a BST, or send a message to an upgraded member).

You are not allowed to sell on BHW because you are not an upgraded user. But if you were, and the accused were to reach out to you for that article, you were allowed to sell them that article whether or not you have an active BST.

Thanks.
I dont think the user opened HAF / WTB thread. Instead the deal was done thru Inbox ? Is that allowed ?

Content must be delivered to the advertised standards.
It was of approximately the same quality as my ebooks and samples were. And he accepted my offer of $150 after going through those.
He could have said that the quality isn't similar to that of the samples (if that was ever the case), but he just fliped!

'Native English' content must be written by someone whose first language is English. Content written by non-Native speakers will be rejected.
If you want your content to be in "Native English", you need to ask about it. I am not going to get a realization that you may have this question.

He asked if I was a native English speaker or not after the content was delivered, I mean he could have just checked my account, I have already provided my country of residency (India - not a native English-speaking country).

Rewrites will not be accepted; the review will be conducted based on what you deliver the first time.
No rewrites were done.

And I dont understand if we are allowed to offer jobs if we wont have a sales thread.
We are allowed, otherwise, I would have received an infraction much before him. If a buyer messages a Jr. VIP (or higher) member for a project, it perfectly falls under the rules.

Can i bring my clients to bhw if that is allowed without sales thread?
You will need to upgrade.

So, @BassTrackerBoats and @Zwielicht are not good enough to understand the rules? What are you trying to imply here?

I don't think that's what he was saying. He was saying that @RocketFuel could've possibly won this dispute if he had bothered responding.

After all, @RocketFuel only lost this dispute because they simply just didn't respond to this thread.

the way you tried to quote those 2 admins on the thread is sub standard and now I understood your standard / quality and I am done with the discussion.

LOL, You are done because you have nothing legit to say.
And you are also using that image, who is playing low now?
And no one invited you to share your "valuable opinion", you engaged in the conversation yourself.

Take care :)
