Do tinder/bumble use facial recognition?

Hi guys. I got shadowbanned on tinder and bumble a few months ago because I deleted and remade the account too often.

To get over this I decided finally to get a new burner phone (not second hand so never used before) new SIM, used android instead of Apple so no same Apple ID, different internet (used the 4g of the new SIM card), new pics even…

I even did all this in a new country too, however the result is I’m still shadowbanned.

I used to get a decent amount of matches every single day now nothing.

When I first made the account on the new device on Tinder I got like 15 likes and a bunch of matches in the first few hours then absolutely nothing for the week after not even a single match or like.

My question:

1) How the hell are they tracing me after I did ALL of that?

2) Could the fact I face verified my previous accounts be how they are linking me to the new account I tried to make? If so, isn’t this illegal/against their terms and if yes, are they then just lying?

3) Am I doomed from ever getting back on tinder/bumble again?

Did you do a face verification when opening a ne account? It is possible that the fact that you face verified your previous accounts is how they are linking you to the new account you tried to make. It might also be through your credit card information.

t is difficult to determine how they are tracing you without more information but it is possible that they could be usingcertain data points from your previous accounts to link you to the new account.
It is not illegal for them to use facial verification to link your accounts as long as this is clearly stated in their terms and conditions. However, if they are doing this without informing you, then it may be considered a breach of the terms and conditions.
You may be able to create a new account but if the issue persists in the future, it may be best to contact Tinder or Bumble directly to find a solution.

Nope just face verified my old account not new.

They can use your biometric data from facial verification to ban future accounts created by you. Also, if you link your socials, they can use that as well. Even if they say they don't store your biometric data, that can just be a half truth - they can store and compare a hashed version of the facial verification data

Also I read on reddit that if you are banned, they can even store your old photos to use to ban future accounts created by you. You just look into cloaking and erasing metadata on the photos you use

Hi man. I have exactly the same problem that you do. I did exactly those things. Hardcore hard resets done multiple times. They ban me in seconds or in minutes sometimes. Not able to get more than 1-4 likes. Then accounts freeze. Many people on Reddit misinform guys telling them tinder does not use facial recognition. They use it 100%, no doubts.

Speaking of terms and conditions. Tinder is far from ethical so I am sure they store everything forever. You have no way of proving or suing them.

I created a brand new account with new pics that have never been used on Tinder (pictures were approved by girls before).
not gonna list all the technicals (I did everything NEW), clean numbers, clean proxies, EXIF remove, new device etc, etc.

My account got 1-5 likes and stopped getting new likes after 5 minutes. Then I changed my pics to somebody else's photos -- I instantly started getting consisnent likes for many days. Then I changed back to my pics - the account got frozen again.

I carried out all sorts of experiments with different accounts. Changing pics and not changing pics, professional photoshoots etc.

80% of my accounts with OTHER GUYS' pictures work fine! I test my registration methods with other men's pictures.
100% of my personal accounts get 0-4 likes and freeze forever. Platinum does not help, boost gets 0 likes. Does not matter if I verify my new account or not.

I myself did not want to believe in facial recognition because it's too bitter a pill to swallow. But having created over 200 accounts and contacted the best specialists in the world who could not help me, this is the only explanation of how they ban me each time anywhere in the world - facial recognition.

Also, why dont you change your photos so they won't recognize the same biometric?

In my country there is no Bumble or Hinge or anything else. Tinder only. I've tried EVERYTHING you can imagine. Reshaping facial features with luquify, taking completely new pictures, not editing, editing, cloaking, I've tried so many things, I paid a guy a lot of money to create multiple accounts for me, he makes a living off Tinder accounts, could not help me. I am sure nobody has done the same. They ban EVERY account with my pictures.

Speaking about accounts where my face is not visible (glasses, 45 degree angle) - girls dislike these accounts because they think it's suspicious. The first 50 girls dislike the account and the ranking goes to trash. Cannot be used. Platinum does not help in getting ELO score higher either. If the first girls dislike the profile, the profile cannot be used in future. I am sure somebody even reports me for multiple accounts. But I've tried creating accounts in the countries where NOBODY knows me - the same result.

Before ban girls liked me (I am really good looking). Now it's impossible to get a like from a real girl. So in order for girls to like me - they need to see my face. If I show my face in pics - the algorithm recognizes me and freezes the account. If I hide my face - girls think I am hiding from my wife or something like that, maybe they think I'm ugly and hiding face because of that. And they dislike and destroy my ELO.

I tried to message Tinder's European customer service and ask them directly to delete all my data from their platform. And according to the article 17 of European GDPR laws, such apps like Tinder are allowed to have your data for max. 30 days.

But that was the answer I got from Tinder legal team – and it looks like it's 90 days instead of 30:

"We can confirm that per Section 8 of our Privacy Policy, Tinder relies on its legitimate interests under Article 6 of the EU GDPR to retain account data for 90 days following deletion. This 90 day period is a 'safety retention window' that allows Tinder to preserve account data in order to ensure it can investigate any potential violations of our Terms, illegal conduct, or other harmful conduct on the app. Without this safety retention window, individuals on Tinder who commit harmful actions could simply request that their data be deleted immediately, and destroy any and all evidence of harmful conduct.

Tinder seeks to balance the vital privacy rights of our members with the unique safety and security needs of a dating app, and so we maintain this 90-day retention period. Tinder is satisfied that its legitimate interests in ensuring the safety of members and investigating and identifying harmful conduct overrides the right of erasure under the EU GDPR, given the existence of a legitimate ground for continued retention.

In these circumstances, we note that the right of erasure under Art. 17 of the EU GDPR is expressly dis-applied where such a legitimate ground exists."

A bit unclear why exactly 90... also, there are other possible variables that come into play:

Ex: An organization’s right to process someone’s data might override their right to be forgotten. Here are the reasons cited in the https://gdpr.eu/:

• The data is being used to exercise the right of freedom of expression and information.
• The data is being used to comply with a legal ruling or obligation.
• The data is being used to perform a task that is being carried out in the public interest or when exercising an organization’s official authority.
• The data being processed is necessary for public health purposes and serves in the public interest.
• The data being processed is necessary to perform preventative or occupational medicine. This only applies when the data is being processed by a health professional who is subject to a legal obligation of professional secrecy.
• The data represents important information that serves the public interest, scientific research, historical research, or statistical purposes and where erasure of the data would likely to impair or halt progress towards the achievement that was the goal of the processing.
• The data is being used for the establishment of a legal defense or in the exercise of other legal claims.

So basically you verified your account once, and they've kept your facial biometric data ever since your initial verification to detect all subsequent pictures with your face?

You should run another experiment:

Start brand new using pictures of one person (just find someone random on Instagram that you follow).

1. Create multiple accounts (without going through verification)
2. Then create an account and verify that face; intentionally get this account banned
3. Create multiple accounts afterwards (without going through verification)
4. Compare results between accounts created in step #1 and step #3

This assumes that your account creation process is legitimate as you claim (there's many factors that go into this: physical device ID, IP, geolocation, warm-up process, etc.). I'm curious to see the results of step #4

correct. this way they make sure that I never create a new account even with brand new pics and new device. this is the only possible explanation why they freeze my accounts in other countries, too. When we talk about this company, it has to be mentioned that they are very much unethical. So I would not believe them that they "do not store your data" longer than 90 days. I am pretty sure in their user agreement they have some sketchy statements which imply that they keep your data forever in some form at least. And you cannot check it so can't government.

We have to understand that essentially they want to be a worldwide monopoly on dating so they need to have their own social credit score. Some guys like me will never be allowed to date in the dating world created by Tinder. Becase I've tried so many registrations, they banned my biometrics later, I think. I don't think they did it the first time.
