I don't think Elon will backflip this decision. He has been trying to implement it for a while and now that he has he is happy, for now.

The dude, although smart past any possible metrics, is as stable as a chair with 3 legs.

But to address the suggestion, and it is not my call, I think that the morphing from Twitter to X for the subdomain may be a little early as society as a whole is still working on embracing that change.

I think the poll results answer this.

We can look into changing it at some point, let's just see if he sticks with the branding for now. I especially like the way @BassTrackerBoats put it.

When they change the domain name to X.com we'll make that change - right now you log into twitter.com .
As per facebook and their Meta rebrand this is a branding change not a domain change. As with all things Elon we'll have to wait and see.
