Viral group better than a viral fan page?

In groups once you exceed 5k the power to direct message your members is gone, while in Fan pages even if it go millions, "update" features is still there.

This is true and people like fan pages because of these reasons.

I would like to mention though that groups have 1+ going for them. You can actually change the name of your group at anytime you cannot change the name of your fan page EVER!
